    Our Season Finale!

So, we have some news to share with you… We're pressing pause on the podcast as we focus on the next chapter of our lives. With our surrogacy journey entering a new stage and Leo getting ready to start big school, we want to take the time to be fully present as a family during what feels like a really special time together. In this episode, we reflect on the last 25 episodes and everything this podcast has given us. It's changed us not only as individuals, but as a couple too. We've shared the highs, the lows and plenty of conversations that weren't always easy to have, but we've never wanted to shy away from being honest. If there's one thing we've learnt, it's that relationships take work, communication and a willingness to have the conversations that aren't always easy. Looking back, those moments have only made us stronger. Finally, we want to say the biggest thank you to every single one of you who has listened, supported us and become part of the He Said, She Said community. Whether you've been here from the beginning or found us somewhere along the way, we're so grateful you've shared this journey with us. Thank you for listening, and we hope you enjoy this season finale 🤍 🩵 Follow us everywhere Instagram | TikTok | Youtube @hesaid.shesaid.podcast And of course… don’t forget to subscribe, follow, rate and review. "Women are finally being listened to" - Louise discusses the breakthrough that could transform maternity care and save lives

"Maternity system is fundamentally broken." It's a headline that understandably caught the attention of parents across the country last week. Following the publication of the landmark maternity report, Louise reflects on her campaigning for safer maternity care, unpacks what the findings really mean, and explains why the appointment of a Maternity Commissioner marks a significant step forward. Despite the alarming headlines, her message is clear: women should come away feeling hopeful, not fearful. Ryan also opens up about a parenting moment that left him questioning whether he'd handled things the right way. Reflecting on the experience, he shares what he learned about helping children navigate disappointment, the pressure parents put on themselves, and why listening instead of rushing to fix things is often the most powerful approach. Plus, Louise and Ryan share how putting the 7-7-7 relationship rule into practice is helping them protect quality time together and strengthen their relationship. 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday 📩 We’ve got a NEW email! “We might have a baby next year!” - A big step forward in our fertility story

This week, Louise and Ryan share an exciting update on their fertility journey, opening up about where things stand now and the possibility of welcoming a baby next year. They reflect on the emotional highs and lows along the way, with Ryan sharing a powerful moment of acceptance as he talks about finally feeling at peace with the surrogacy journey. They also catch up on life outside of it all, including Ryan’s Father’s Day event and Louise’s recent trip to a wedding, which sparks a wider conversation about modern wedding etiquette. From whether it is ever right to bring children to a wedding, to the fairness of destination weddings. Plus, with the World Cup in full swing, they react to the controversy around a player returning home for the birth of his daughter, and unpack the wider role of men during childbirth. They also dig into the proposed under 16 social media ban, asking whether it will actually help or whether it simply shifts responsibility elsewhere. 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday 📩 We’ve got a NEW email! Anna Williamson Gives Us a Therapy Session

This week we're joined by relationship expert and Celebs Go Dating coach Anna Williamson. As Sam and Pete's former dating coach, we had to get the inside scoop on what they were really like behind the scenes, and Anna shares a few stories that Louise and Ryan may not have heard before. The conversation then takes a more personal turn as Anna gives us some powerful techniques for reconnecting as a couple, leading to an honest discussion about therapy and relationships. For the first time, we open up about a recent reset in our own relationship, and Anna reminds us that every couple faces challenges and that asking for help is often the first step towards moving forward. We also discuss why so many relationships struggle after having a baby, the biggest reasons people cheat, and why more people than ever are searching for deeper meaning and connection in their relationships. 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday 📩 We’ve got a NEW email! Ryan's most emotional episode yet - A Father’s Day Surprise

This week’s episode is a special Father’s Day edition, and one Ryan certainly wasn’t expecting. What begins as a conversation about fatherhood takes an emotional turn when a surprise message from his dad leaves him completely speechless, and the whole room fighting back tears. Also, as Ryan becomes an uncle for the fifth time, he opens up about the complex reality of holding multiple emotions at once. While celebrating a joyful family milestone, he reflects on how moments like these can also stir memories and feelings from the past of their own difficulties with fertility. This leads to a thoughtful conversation about comparison, gratitude, and how two seemingly conflicting emotions can exist side by side. And we also get into a little domestic debate as Louise enters her DIY era, sparking whether building work is a blue or pink job. 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday 📩 We’ve got a NEW email! Things Got Heated Discussing Our Argument Styles...

This week, Louise and Ryan dive into the topic of argument styles and quickly discover they have very different views on how each other handles conflict. What starts as a conversation about communication soon turns into a debate of its own, with the retelling of one of their most recent disagreements... They also discuss a recent BBC Panorama documentary on failures in maternity care that left a lasting impression on them both. The conversation prompts a deeply personal reflection on the trauma they've experienced individually, and the lasting impact those experiences continue to have on their lives and perspectives today. Plus, they unpack the rise of the "tradwife" movement and question whether influencers such as Nara Smith are simply showcasing a lifestyle choice or promoting a narrative that risks undermining decades of progress for women. As the trend continues to gain popularity online, Louise and Ryan explore the messages the younger generation may be absorbing from the content they consume every day. "I'm Starting to Accept I'll Never Carry a Child Myself" : The Part of Surrogacy Nobody Prepared Me For

This week, Louise reflects on the often-unspoken reality of rebuilding confidence in your body after motherhood, opening up about her journey back to exercise and the ways becoming a parent has changed her perspective on beauty, self-care and the messages young girls are absorbing from the modern skincare industry. Ryan discusses why sport matters far beyond the game itself, particularly for men, and how major events like the World Cup can create powerful opportunities for connection, belonging and conversation. Plus, a listener question about the best advice they've ever been given leads to one of their most honest discussions yet, as Louise shares the complex emotions she's experiencing while facing the possibility that her family may be complete. 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday 📩 We’ve got a NEW email! Did We Rush Into Parenthood?

This week, Louise and Ryan dive into the conversation sparked by a viral Vogue article about a woman becoming a mother at 49 and calling it the most self-aware decision she’s ever made. It opens up a bigger discussion around the pressure to have children “on time”, and the realities of having kids later in life, from the unexpected benefits to the challenges no one really talks about. Then, with Rivals Season 2 back on our screens, they chat all things dinner parties… which leads Louise to revealing her time on Come Dine With Me alongside the rest of the MIC cast. So we do a live reaction to a clip of her time on there.... Plus, there’s an M&S sweet taste test, reactions to Venezuela Fury’s wedding choices and the wild things we'd choose on our own wedding day if there was zero judgement, and a listener dilemma about what we’d do if Leo covered the bedroom in make-up?! 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday 📩 We’ve got a NEW email! Why I’m Fighting for a Maternity Commissioner in the UK...

Louise and Ryan head to UK Parliament to back the call for a maternity commissioner, with Louise sharing why this fight is so deeply personal. She opens up about her own experience of giving birth and the stark reality that care for women in the UK is still falling short, and why change shouldn’t have to come at the cost of tragedy. Then it pivots. A weekend away sparks a story no one saw coming, with unexpected glimpse into Ryan’s past as butler in the buff 👀. There’s also a chat about The Fury’s and how their approach to parenting might hold up if Leo married young, or started to swear at them. “We could have a baby by NEXT YEAR” - The Turning Point in our Surrogacy Journey

Louise has had a rare few days alone while Ryan and Leo headed off on their first father–son trip. Ryan reflects on what that one-on-one time meant to him, while Louise opens up about something many mums don’t say out loud: that she enjoyed the space, and why she refuses to feel guilt for needing time to herself. That honesty leads into a bigger conversation. Inspired by Emma Grede describing herself as a “three-hour mum”, we unpack the pressure around modern motherhood. How much time is “enough” with your kids, what’s expectation versus reality, and how our own experiences shape the kind of parents we want to be. We also share a major surrogacy update. It’s a big step forward, and one that brings a mix of hope, nerves, and the weight of everything starting to feel very real. Louise and Ryan kick things off with a simple question, would they want a boy or a girl next? But their answers reveal something deeper, opening up a conversation about the quiet fears of parenting in a world shaped by the manosphere and everything kids are exposed to online. That leads into screen time, boundaries, and the looming question every parent faces… what happens when your child asks for a phone? Their take might surprise you... Happy Birthday Louise!!! 🥳 Of course, as it’s her birthday we had a few surprises planned… starting with Ryan transforming into Louise’s “ideal man.” Or at least, that was the plan. Why We Clash (and Still Make It Work)

This week we’re recording on the eve of our long-awaited trip - and let’s just Louise and Ryan approach holidays VERY differently... We chat honestly about how travelling as parents hits differently, the mental load of planning, and why even a dream getaway can come with nightmares (literally). Louise opens up about adjusting to life with a stoma bag and how it’s impacted confidence around things like swimwear and holidays, while Ryan shares what it’s been like supporting from the sidelines. We also finally dive into love languages and how those differences can affect us. Add in our Type A vs Type B approach and… yes, there are clashes. One thing we do agree on - the online storm surrounding the Bonnie Blue viral pregnancy story and what it says about the world our children are growing up. We also share where our heads are at when it comes to future family planning and the difficult decisions that come with it during uncertain times. 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday 📩 We’ve got a NEW email! What our 4-year-old REALLY thinks of us...

This week on He Said, She Said, we’re chatting all about sleep habits, mums, and welcoming a very special (and very small) guest to the podcast… We kick things off with a catch-up on our trip to Scotland and what travelling with a four-year-old is really like. Then we dive into a surprisingly heated debate about sleep… which leads to talking about our own sleeping habits, snoring accusations, and whether couples should ever share a bed in the first place. With Mother’s Day around the corner, we spend some time reflecting on mums - from embarrassing childhood moments and the things we definitely took for granted, to the moment you realise your mum is just… a person. And finally… please welcome our youngest guest ever. Leo joins the pod to give his honest review of what mummy is really like at home and we put mum vs dad to the test in a game to see who actually knows Leo best. Louise’s Dad Reacts to THAT Made in Chelsea Scene for the First Time EVER

Louise’s dad, Mike Thompson, joins us as our very first guest! From what Louise was really like growing up, to sibling rivalries with Sam, suspensions and a very disciplined upbringing, Mike gives us a glimpse into what life was like in the Thompson household.
