Raynham Hall in Norfolk is famous for the "Brown Lady," a ghost believed to be Lady Dorothy Walpole, who was allegedly imprisoned there until her death in 1726. She was sighted numerous times in the 19th century. The legend gained global fame in 1936 when a photograph captured a translucent figure on the estate's grand staircase. While skeptics cite double exposure or camera tricks, it remains one of history's most iconic paranormal photographs.
