The Mongolian Death Worm (Olgoi-Khorkhoi) is a legendary cryptid of the Gobi Desert. Described as a red, sausage-like worm up to five feet long, it allegedly kills instantly by spitting acid or discharging electricity. Despite local lore and many expeditions, no physical evidence exists. Scientists suspect the myth is inspired by harmless animals like the Tartar sand boa or worm lizards.
