Episode #9: Two CEOs Reconnect

GHSA CEO Jonathan Adkins first met Jeanne Allen in 1995 when he was a student at Dickinson College and she was a recent alumna speaking at a school event. He had no idea at the time how much she would influence his professional journey. Jeanne is now the founder and CEO of the Center for Education Reform and the author of the new book, “The Education Avengers: How and Why a New Class of Heroes Is Fighting America’s Biggest Battle.” What impresses Jonathan most is how Jeanne shares compelling stories of parents and children trying to overcome challenges – an example he believes other advocates could use more often in their work. When they meet at “The Intersection,” Jeanne encourages road safety experts to ensure they’re reaching school principals and teachers, because they have the most influence at the community level – even more than elected officials and superintendents.
