How ESG regulation is reshaping investing

While the US faces potential ESG setbacks under a Trump administration, UK advisers must navigate evolving ESG regulations. Market forces, rather than policy, are driving adoption, with companies recognising sustainability as essential for long-term resilience. As ESG integrates into mainstream investing, advisers must balance compliance, client expectations, and performance to capitalise on the UK’s role in shaping responsible investment trends. Ima Jackson-obot, deputy features editor at FT Adviser, is joined by Arthur Carabia, director of ESG policy research at Morningstar Sustainalytics and Jonathan Friedman, global lead – ESG advisory at Anthesis Group. The FTAdviser Podcast is designed to inform regulated UK advisers on a range of topics, covering investments, pensions, regulation and other key issues. Hosted on Acast. Let's fix letters of authority in 2025

Letters of Authority are still the bane of advisers and clients. Even pledges during the pandemic years to improve automation and processing times have fallen by the wayside, as some advisers have reported to FT Adviser delays of months - six months in once case - in getting clients transferred to and set up with providers, due to issues caused by delays in letters of authority. 2025 must be the year when this appalling lack of service and outdated processing comes to an end. And here to talk with FT Adviser's Simoney Kyriakou about their campaign is Scott Phillips, founder and chief of The Pension Lab and one of the founder members of The Fix LoA (Letters of Authority) Action Group - FLAG for short. The FTAdviser Podcast is designed to inform regulated UK advisers on a range of topics, covering investments, pensions, regulation and other key issues. Hosted on Acast. There are so many different issues that sit under the term 'service'

Financial services companies are an extremely mixed bunch when it comes to service. Provider service levels have been exceptionally high for some, and abysmal for others, across all sectors: platforms, pensions, investments, mortgages and everything in between. Here to join us to discuss all things service is Steve Nelson, insight director for the Lang Cat consultancy, which has just released its own research into provider service (November 29).
