Why Anthony Darrell Hines Is Being Executed | The Murder of Catherine Jenkins

Join us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/hauntedcitypodcast We're back. Season two of From One To Wicked opens on a case with a clock running on it. On March 3, 1985, 54-year-old Catherine Jenkins, a grandmother, a maid, the woman in her small Tennessee town who'd drive you to your doctor's appointment - was left in charge of the Seabon Motel in Kingston Springs for one afternoon. She was found hours later in room 21, robbed, raped, and stabbed to death, with a $20 bill tucked under the band of her watch. Anthony Darrell Hines had checked into room 9 that morning. Days earlier, he'd told his girlfriend's mother why he carried a hunting knife under his shirt: "I never go anywhere naked. I always have my blade." By that afternoon he was on the interstate in Catherine's Volvo with dried blood on his shirt and a story that changed every time he told it. Madison walks JT through the stab marks in the motel wall, the confession Hines offered only if the state would guarantee him execution — then retracted when they said yes — and the affair-shaped red herring that had the Sixth Circuit rethinking the whole case 35 years later. Anthony Hines is scheduled to be executed Thursday, August 13, 2026. Catherine's daughter Melissa has spent her entire adult life waiting for it. New episodes multiple times a month. Rate this one from one to wicked in the comments, and if you know what Hines's prior convictions were, we want to hear it. If you like spooky, find us at The Most Haunted City on Earth Podcast, anywhere you listen.

The Most Prolific Serial Killer You Don't Know About | Randy Kraft

Join us on Patreon! ⚠️ VIEWER DISCRETION STRONGLY ADVISED. This episode contains discussion of sexual violence, torture, and murder involving minors and adults. On this episode of From One to Wicked, we dive into the life and crimes of Randy Kraft—aka the Scorecard Killer, the Southern California Strangler, and one of the so-called Freeway Killers. Between 1972–1983, Kraft targeted young men (many of them U.S. Marines) across California, Oregon, and Michigan, with a confirmed count in the teens and suspicions that his victims may number far higher. We trace Kraft’s path from an apparently bright, well-liked kid in Long Beach—churchgoing family, accelerated classes, saxophone and tennis—to his years at Claremont Men’s College, political pivots, and Air Force service and discharge. Then we follow the escalation: drug-facilitated abductions, a chilling M.O., and the cryptic “scorecard” that investigators believe cataloged victims. We also cover the multi-agency hunt that struggled to connect cases spread along freeways and state lines, plus the confusion created by multiple “Freeway Killer” offenders operating in the same era. If this topic is tough for you, please take care. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, help is available via local resources and national hotlines.
