It's Christmastime, and Clark can't hide his excitement. Yet he wonders why Lois is unenthusiastic -- forgetting, of course, that last Christmas Lois had half a dozen attempts made on her life. It's A BOLT FROM THE BLUE! Superman is, of course, the Blue, and when he's struck by a lighting bolt ⚡️ while touching another human, the other guy gets Superpowers. Although New Guy will save your puppy from a burning building, it'll cost you $29.95. That's the wrong way to be a Superhero (at least according to Superman, who couldn't ever be wrong himself.) MEANWHILE, Lois just wants the scoop on how New Guy got his powers. Could it have anything to do with... Superman? Of course it does. But Superman's not telling. To make matters wackier, New Guy might just have a little crush on Lois! With hilarious acting from Leslie Jordan and Cindy Williams, there's nary a dull moment in this episode. S2E07 - That Old Gang Of Mine: "An Error In Judgment"
That Old Gang Of Mine: It's sad, but we love it. It's angsty, but we really love it. It's ridiculous, but who cares? LOIS HAS FEELINGS FOR CLARK! ❤️❤️❤️ A scientist decides to clone/resurrect 1930s gangsters with the hopes of altering their personalities and making them good citizens. For... reasons?... he brings back a bunch at once and, whoops, they all begin taking over Metropolis! At first, it's kind of funny. Bonnie is horny. Clyde doesn't know about credit cards. Al Capone thinks he can bribe Perry White. And John Dillinger is a bit too giddy with the dynamite. We also meet Lois & Clark's hungry-hungry informant, Bobby Bigmouth, who leads L&C to an illegal gaming club, where Lois loses a lot more than just a bucketful of nickels. 😭 This evergreen fan-favorite has inspired numerous fanfic and discussion, especially about the end scene. S2E02 - Wall Of Sound: "Justice For The Trashy Brunettes"
AWAKE, MY CHILDREN -- Wall Of Sound is here! Some guy with a British accent and a penchant for sound is robbing banks and knocking down buildings. Meanwhile, in a complete coincidence, another guy with a British accent is singing about his "wall of sound" and about buildings crumbling. Wait -- could there be a connection? Indeed. Lenny Stoke, aka "The Sound Man," is our villain of the week, and he's armed with a power glove, a sound gun, 8,000 bluetooth speakers, and a posse of henchpeople. Really, I don't think this guy can be stopped. In other news, Clark gets an award nomination! Lois and Jimmy do not -- which sends both of them spiraling. Jimmy goes motorcycling straight into danger, and Lois spends her monthly wardrobe budget on leather. It sounds completely bonkers, but 2/3 of us like this episode fairly well. We especially like... S2E01 - Madame Ex: "Double Fudge Crunch Bars"
Season 2 is here, and we're discussing Madame Ex, L&C's second season premiere! The Daily Planet is back in operation! Lois and Clark have returned to their jobs, the newsroom has a brighter vibe, and there are a few new faces around -- a staff psychiatrist (Arianna Carlin), for one, and a new face on... well, Jimmy. Meanwhile, Teri Hatcher does double duty as both Lois AND her sinister lookalike, a woman who commits a bunch of terrible crimes, including "going on television," and "using her left hand." But this is all nothing compared to what -- or should we say who -- is currently on "simmer" in a laboratory basement. It's the beginning of what WE remember as our favorite season.
