554 – Tony, New X-Men Cast, The End of Oak Street

This week, we assure you David Ehrlich is returning to this podcast. In a return to some sort of format, you left reviews and sent e-mails but it still takes Katey, Patches, and Da7e a good 20 minutes to get started this week. When they do, Katey and Da7e weigh in on the perfectly cromulent Tony, Da7e wonders what (if anything) his cohosts think of the new X-Men Disney announced at their Disney convention, then Katey fills in the boys on the newest Amblin-throwback dinosaur movie in theaters – The End of Oak Street. Patches sneaks in a stealth Paw Patrol segment. Take a listen, embed and/or download below; for more from all of us, follow on BlueSky! 552 – Spider-Man: Brand New Day

This week, whoops, there’s a new biggest movie in theaters and this one is setting records. Matt Patches and Katey Rich were unable to catch Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters, but Katey shows up to referee a discussion between Davids, one Ehrlich who did not like Brand New Day as much as one Da7e who thought it’s a new kind of Spider-Man installment that points towards some good tidings in Marvel’s immediate future. 551 – The Odyssey Review

This week, everyone is back in the War Room and not on vacation with multiple children and everyone has seen The Odyssey! We figured it was about time that we devoted an episode of one of TIME Magazine’s Best Podcasts of All Time to this all-timer cinematic experience (that nevertheless has nitpicks our hosts will nitpick). 550 – The 1976 50th Anniversary Quell

AKA NONE OF US ARE FIFTY YET BUT ALL THESE MOVIES ARE. It’s another Fighting in The War Room Quarter Quell! For this edition of a FITWR Quarter Quell, each host picked a movie that was released 50 years go in 1976 and was NOT one of the super popular ones (no Network, no Rocky). Katey finally watches the Barbra Streisand/Kris Kristofferson version of A Star is Born, Da7e caught up on a Sherlock Holmes movie he had never seen with The Seven-Per-Cent Solution, Patches picked the final Alfred Hitchcock film called Family Plot, and David exposes his cohosts to In Realm of the Senses . 549 – A Bad Year For Console Gaming, Minions and Monsters, The Invite

This week, David can’t make it to the War Room, but is locked in with the rest of the hosts for next week’s QUARTER QUELL – 1976. On this episode, Da7e has questions for Patches about the no-good-very-bad news for the console gaming industry over the past couple of weeks. Then, Katey reports on Minions and Monsters, which sounds fun but is underperforming at the box office. Then, Katey and Da7e talk about The Invite, expanding to more theaters this weekend and though since they disclose the premise the trailer is hinting at, consider it LIGHT SPOILERS, I guess. This week, everyone is back in the War Room, but David is very tired. Somehow, Supergirl is out this weekend and no one besides Da7e was planning to see it, so Da7e took that bullet for Patches, Katey and David.
