When fear nearly sent her home—and an expired emergency credit card left her running out of money—Amy found an unexpected solution: she bought a pair of scissors and started cutting hair across Europe to earn the $10 a day she needed to continue her journey. Years later, that same willingness to face uncertainty would become essential to her life as an entrepreneur. Amy launched what she describes as the first food truck in Hampton Roads in 2012, was diagnosed with breast cancer the following year, spent years working in real estate, and eventually discovered e-bikes during a family trip to California. One unforgettable day riding with her husband and four teenagers sparked an idea: Hampton Roads needed this experience too. Building what eventually became E-Bike Alley was anything but predictable.
