And New York's first Muslim socialist mayor and AOC still found something to giggle about while it happened.The camera cut from a man with his face buried in his arms to Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez leaning in, smiling, then laughing as relatives kept reciting the dead. They treated the reading like a side conversation at a fundraiser. Tomorrow both of them will still have their jobs. That is the 25th anniversary in 2026: the dead get their two hours, the living get their careers, and the rest of us get to watch the difference.
