Dread Media - Episode 956 - Deathstalker franchise

This week, we're back, after recording delays and with some rough audio, but we're back. And we're looking at the Deathstalker films! First up, Desmond and Duane go deep on Steven Kostanski's loving reboot of Deathstalker. Then, Desmond goes solo on discussion of the original Deathstalker, Deathstalker II, Deathstalker IV: Match of Titans, and a little about Deathstalker: Warriors of Hell, but he couldn't make it through fifteen minutes. Of course, we're playing some barbarian metal: "Swordmaster" by 3 Inches of Blood, "Deathstalker" by Heavy Chains, "Every Day There's a Battle to Fight" by Grand Magus, and "Grief's Reverie" by Khemmis. Dread Media - Episode 955 - Witchboard franchise

Dread Media returns! And it's back with a look at the Witchboard movies! *wait for applause to die down* Desmond and Tom look at the remake: Witchboard. They also talk a lot about the original. Then, Des goes solo on the rest of the films in the series: Witchboard, Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway, Witchboard III: The Possession, and Witchtrap, which is not part of the series, but it's pretty close and probably a better movie than all the others. Songs included: "Spirits" by King Diamond, "Ouija Board Lies" by L7, "Kill in the Spirit World" by Black Sabbath, and "Us vs Them" by Sick of it All. RIP Chuck Russell, Jennifer Finch, and Lou Koller. Send feedback to: dreadmediapodcast@gmail.com. Follow @DevilDinosaurJr and @dreadmedia on Twitter! Join the Facebook group! Hey, an Actor: Zoe Saldana

Who is the highest grossing box office star of all time at time of writing? That's right, Zoe Saldana! No, seriously. And whilst you may know her from some of the most beloved, popular movie franchises of all time (and Avatar), The Brothers Wilson drill down into her career when she's not in a popular franchise. So yes, they do cover Avatar, the supremely successful, yet weirdly unloved 3D sci-fi romp from the mind of James Cameron. But, additionally, the episode looks at ill-received Nina Simone biopic Nina, and the surprise Oscar hit Emilia Perez. Are The Brothers emotionally mature enough to talk about a crime musical about a Mexican sex change? What does Ian actually know about Nina Simone? Why does Pandy start laughing hysterically towards the end of the Avatar review? Listen in and find out!

Dread Media - Episode 954 - All the Gods in the Sky

Join Desmond and Duane as they discuss the challenging All the Gods in the Sky. It might not be fully recommended, but it certainly led to an interesting conversation. Then, Des goes solo on a rundown of everything he's been watching on TV lately, but focusing on a full season look at the NBC Masters of Horror follow-up: Fear Itself. Songs included: "Bruised Sky" by Poppy, "We Could Fold the Stars" by Kardashev (feat. Pawel JJ Przybysz), "Lie, Lie, Lie" by Serj Tankian, and "Heresy (Nine Inch Noize version)" by Nine Inch Nails and Boyz Noize. Send feedback to: dreadmediapodcast@gmail.com. Hey, an Actor: Danny DeVito

The 2026 slate for Hey, an Actor! inevitably starts with a well-known comedic actor of Hollywood pedigree: New Jersey's greatest short man, Danny DeVito. The Brothers Wilson skillfully navigate his Taxi sitcom days by covering his film dedicated to his former co-star, Andy Kaufman, in Man on the Moon, as well as one of his first post-Taxi cinematic supporting roles in Romancing the Stone, and his directorial effort in bringing Roald Dahl's Matilda to the silver screen. Along the way, Pandy introduces a new character, Ian learns a new synonym for "taint," and Jerry Lawler is discussed just enough not to worry the podcast's legal budget. Oh, and there's a song parody that sounds unintentionally Muppet-esque.
