At first glance, it’s a jab at men who don’t eat meat, especially those who drink soy milk. But pretty quickly, it took on a political edge.

Today, it’s used by masculinists, men who advocate for male superiority or dominance and far-right circles to mock men they see as too sensitive, too progressive, too… woke. In other words: not manly enough.
