BONUS: Sam Williams Has a MESSAGE for Cowboys Critics: "My Work Speaks for Itself”
transcript
show notes
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sam Williams is back and feeling better than ever as he looks to make his return from injury and get back to the player he was before.
Speaking with the media, Williams opened up about being one year removed from his injury, the work he's put in during the offseason, and how he's rebuilding his confidence. He also discussed his position change and why he's excited to return to the type of defensive scheme he thrived in at Ole Miss.
But perhaps most notably, Williams explained how he has used the criticism surrounding his game as motivation. Rather than blame anyone else, Williams says he looked at himself in the mirror, identified what he needed to improve—including stopping the run and pass rushing—and went to work.
In this interview, Sam Williams discusses:
His health one year after his injury
Getting his confidence back
His position change
Returning to a scheme he's comfortable with
The criticism he's received about his game
Improving against the run
Becoming a better pass rusher
How he's using negativity as motivation
Why he's determined to let his work speak for itself
