After her blog post, “10 Reasons Your Dentist Probably Hates You Too,” went viral, she began connecting with dental professionals around the world who wanted more from their careers. Dr Leader is the chair of the education committee of the Massachusetts Dental Society. The goals of this conversation this week will be as follows: Learn how to identify sources of bias in scientific papers. Understand how authors and publishers may prevent bias in scientific papers. See examples of how industry may promote their products by managing research, publication of research, and influencing researchers and guideline committees.

Karla has presented in Europe, South America and North America on fully embracing the digital dentistry revolution to transform her practice into a more productive and fulfilling experience. An award winning clinician, Karla received the 2020 DSD Speaker of the Year award, the 2021 Straumann Purpose award and Align Case Shootout champion at the 2021 GP Summit live competition. Dr. Soto is the cofounder of Smile Again, a nonprofit to help give smile makeovers to survivors of domestic violence.
