86. Play for Keeps
Two old friends have been playing marbles together in the park every Saturday for years, usually with a small group of neighborhood kids gathered around to play. Then they come across something that, by now, should probably be familiar. A black marble. I wrote this story quite a while ago, and recorded it A while ago. Now that I’ve finally put the whole thing together, there are definitely some things I’d change if I were writing it today. But, honestly, I still really love this story and what I was trying to do with it. It’s slow. It’s deliberately pedantic. There’s a lot of detail on things that don't really matter, short conversation, and a lot of time spent simply being with Arthur. I wanted the story to move at the pace that felt right for them. I truly hope you enjoy it and thank you for being here!
