    Wolves of the Calla #2 (Pt1, Ch1 Sc1-5, Ch2 Sc 1-4)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 1, Chapter 1 Subchapters 1-5, Chapter 2 Subchapters 1-4 📢 Episode Summary: We join our Ka-tet fo the first time in this book as time is feeling super elastic and the passage of time feels non-existant to them as they move along the path of the beam. The New York gunslingers seem enamored with the number 19 whereas Roland has no interest in it. The find what was likely once a road that is roughly following the beam and they begin following it. The enter a wood that seems from a fair tale, Eddie shares Hansel and Gretel with Roland who loves our stories but seemingly as a way to understand our world. Jake peels off for a bit and comes back with Muffin Balls, they all eat them and after they do Roland tells them they can bring vivid dreams. Also Jake mentions they are being followed, Roland knew all along (including how many), Susannah is a bit cold that he didn't tell them. Roland is not concerned about them. Jake and Eddie dream about being in New York (along with Oy) but it feels to real to be a dream and it feels like going into the Ball to see Roland kill his mother. They see another Jake, that is cutting school at Piper. Our Jake and Eddie both heard chimes when coming into this New York and despite it being morning feel it is dark somehow. They follow Jake 77 into the bookstore where he will buy the riddle book and Charlie the Choo-Choo.     📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Round Table Tadd and Peter have a tidal wave of Carrie stuff to talk about. San Diego Comic Con had a full fledge panel for Flanagan's series. They released the first trailer and there have been a number of articles that really give us a good sense of what this series is going to be and how different from the novel it is going to be. There were also a few 'First Look' articles previous to the trailer with a lot of good images and stuff not in the trailer so the boys break it all down along with speculating what the show might be.     Wolves of the Calla #1 (Prologue)

    📖 Section Covered: Prologue 📢 Episode Summary: In the first episode of a brand new book, Tadd and Peter dive into Book 5 Wolves of the Calla. In a first for this series we start the book with someone other than Roland or our Ka-Tet. We find a farmer named Tian Jaffords in a cursed part of his field. He is working his very tall but simple-minded twin sister. A robot named Andy comes and Tian guesses (correctly) he is bringing news of the Wolves, they are coming in 30 days. He is distraught, so too is his wife who was watching their 5 children, two sets of twins and a "singleton" and Tian wonders if it is time to say no to the wolves. We also see his wife has a large simple-minded twin, and they have a "Grand-pere" living with them. He calls their town together, their town is so small there is not even a sheriff let alone any sort of leader, and many show up including eight Manni and a late-coming stranger. They debate standing up against the Wolves. We learn they have been coming for six generations (give or take) and they take one of the two twins from age 3 to puberty and the one they take comes back "Roont" empty of mind and large of body. We also find out that twins are the norm here and "singletons" are rare and coveted because they are safe from the Wolves. The Wolves come every 20+ years or so. It is not overly going Tian's way, the folks appealing to reason are winning the day, but finally the later-comer speaks up and we find out it is Father Callahan, he of Salem's Lot, and he challenges them all to stand. He then says because they are just farmers and ranchers they should hire some killers and there are four of them travelling nearby along the path of the Beam.     📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Round Table Tadd and Peter have wrapped the Book Club series on Wizard & Glass so they spend some time talking about the big takeaways that they both got from the Book Club unencumbered by spoiler restrictions in the Book Club episodes. They talk a bit about the Rhea vs Cordelia in terms of who is worse, and also the much bigger part the Wizard's Glass played in the story and how so much more can be laid at its feet. Beyond that they also cover another email. Then an NBA superstar is a fan of the series, how similar are King and Shakespeare, we are getting an adaptation of Mister Yummy, and The Dark Tower pops up on a few Top 10 lists including best Dark Fantasy Novels and Best Books of the 00s.     Wizard and Glass Book Club #40 (Pt4, Ch4, Ch5 Sc1-5, Afterword)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 4 Chapter 4, Chapter 5 Subchapters 1-5, Afterword 📢 Episode Summary: In the final Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter follow the ka-tet into the Grapefruit to see the final chapter of Roland's tragic origins story. Roland goes looking for his mom after his return from Mejis and after he is given his birthright guns. The New Yorkers are "in" Gilead watching. Roland does not see someone hiding behind the drapes. He goes into the bedroom and the Ball is there, the figure comes from behind and the Ball makes him think it is Rhea holding a snake, he turns and fires and only sees a fraction of a second after pulling the trigger it is not Rhea but his mother holding a peace-offering belt for him. Rhea appears in the Ball and taunts him, but then she can seemingly see the New Yorkers as well and tells them to cry off, he has killed everyone he has ever loved. Jake goes to detroy the ball and it flashes them out of the vision. They are now miles from the palace, time has slipped and they have travelled 30 miles. They see they are back on the path of the Beam. Roland gives them leave to break from the journey, but they all say they are with him until the end. They ask some clarifying questions about the backstory Roland answers what he can. A note is left from Flagg telling them to cry off.     Wizard and Glass Book Club #39 (Pt4, Ch2 Sc 5, Ch3 Sc1-8)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 4 Chapter 2 Subchapters 5, Chapter 3 Subchapters 1-8 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter re-join the ka-tet outside the Emerald Palace as they get their new ruby shoes/boots on and get ready to click their heels, but it does not work and they realize that it is because Oy is not doing it as well. Once they help Oy the gate opens. The tet goes in and sees a nonsense-filled newspaper with some Blaine references. Much of what they see is straight from the Oz film including the long hallway. They get to the big room with a massive throne and rainbow organ as the voice starts booming out at them, and Blaine's route map appears out of fog. They go back and forth with the voice until Oy reveals the man behind the curtain, which is Tick Tock man. Then on the throne appears Marten or Flagg, the Deans dispose of Tick Tock. Roland's guns do nothing against Flagg, he tells them all to forsake the Tower, Roland draws the Ruger shocking Flagg but it caught on his belt buckle allowing Flagg to escape.     📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Round Table Tadd and Peter Palaver on a few things, first they discuss the ending (yes again) through the lens of people who were disappointed in it and how their desires don't align with King in general and this story in particular. Then similar to the discussion last month on Jake being the most important character to get right the boys go through all 8 book and discuss which supporting characters will be the most important for each season (assuming each book would be a season, which is not Flanagan's plan but for this discussion they pretend). Then Peter talks a bit about his final few King books to achieve his 100% badge. Then King has been posting some stuff on Other Worlds Than These including the fact it is the FINAL Dark Tower book. He also tells us about a new Bumbler named Richard. Then they have announced that Patton Oswalt is the narrator for OWTT. Next is Flanagan's The Mist the perfect setup for his Tower?     Wizard and Glass Book Club #38 (Pt4, Ch1 Sc4-5 & Ch2 Sc1-4)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 4 Chapter 1 Subchapters 4-5, Chapter 2 Subchapters 1-4 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter the Ka-Tet is tormented by the thinny's warble and when it finally subsides a few followup questions are asked about some of the dangling threads and Roland answers them, including Clay Reynolds, Cordelia Delgado, and Sheemie. The also see a note on a camper talking about an old woman in Nebraska and a Dark Man in Vegas. The also reach a clearing on I-70 and find red shoes for each of them, including Oy. The building they are approaching is now clearly seen as an Emerald Palace. Eddie ties Roland flying into the Ball to the Wizard of Oz as he saw things flying in the storm. They then fill Roland in on the story of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz as it is clearly relevant to what they are seeing.     📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Round Table Tadd and Peter break down and discuss the final few Rounds of March Insanity where there were some upsets and surprises and even an overall winner neither of them could have predicted. Then in the news there is an article that talks about Jake Chambers being the most important character to get right in an adaptation which the boys discuss at length and through this examine aspects of the end of the series, the nature of gunslingers, Susannah's choice at the end, and Peter finding a pretty critical thing in a re-read of Black House that has potentially huge implications in The Dark Tower Series.     Wizard and Glass Book Club #37 (Pt3, Ch10 Sc-23-27 & Pt4 Ch1 Sc1-3)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 3, Chapter 10 Subchapters 23-27 & Part 4 Chapter 1 Subchapters 1-3 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter reach the moment the entire book was counting down to. Susan is taken into town on Rhea's cart and as she sees a farmer she finally understands what she is headed for, and she prays to her father for strength for what is to come. Roland had realized in our last episode that the ball lied to him, and now he demands it from Alain, he takes it out and it shows him Susan in the cart, all while drinking his agony. He watches as the people began to pelt her with cornhusks and rotten vegitables, while they spit at her and while they chant Charyou Tree. Cuthbert and Alain are helpless to break Roland from it as he screams in agony. Then Cordelia and Rhea lead the charge of the town as they put Susan on the bonfire stack and ask she cries out her love for Roland Cordelia (and then Rhea) throw the first torches on the piles. In the end Susan thinks of Roland, remembers the good times, they were well met. Roland is screaming like a gutted animal, the ball only releases him when Cuthbert readies to shoot it, Roland passes out, the boys must leave Hambry for good with Roland in tow. Then we rejoin our 'modern' Ka-Tet as the story is told, they marvel it has only been one night, we hear Roland looked into the ball 3 more times. Jake hugs Roland and apologizes that he lost his friend.     Wizard and Glass Book Club #36 (Pt3, Ch10 Sc15-22)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 3, Chapter 10 Subchapters 15-22 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter continue into the final chapter of Part 3 and in this episode the boys take out the tankers and ambush Latigo and his men in the desert but rather than taking some shots at Latigo himself they bait him and his men towards Eyebolt Canyon. Latigo has to wake up some of his men mesmerized by the columns of fire from the tankers that are now going off in a chain reaction; he and Hendricks muster the men to give chase to the boys. Latigo and company muster 80 people and ride hard after the boys heading into the canyon. The boys let their horses go and set fire to the gunpowder then go into the canyon. The Thinny almost takes Cuthbert and Alain but Roland wakes them up and they climb the notch in the canyon wall. Latigo and his men charge into the canyon unaware of the fire starting that will box them in and they drive right into the thinny and are torn apart by the thinny.     📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Round Table Tadd and Peter first unveil the March Insanity Brackets. Then they talk through all of the big news including Talisman 3's title 'Other Worlds Than These' along with the cover, the release date, and the synopsis. It sure seems like this is the first new Dark Tower book in the decade of DTP! Then in the Flanagan realm Carrie gets a release window and for some reason Flanagan is re-adapting The Mist…. Then Flanagan has finished the first season of scripts for The Dark Tower and King loves them. Also HBO saying Welcome to Derry will get a second season, The Institute starts filming season 2 and has a new cast member, and finally The Body is getting a new audiobook with Whil Wheaton narrating!     Wizard and Glass Book Club #35 (Pt3, Ch10 Sc7-14)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 3, Chapter 10 Subchapters 7-14 📢 Episode Summary: In the first Book Club for Wizard and Glass in 2026 Tadd and Peter continue into the final chapter of Part 3 and in this episode Sheemie and Olive are working together at Seafront trying to free Susan without much success. Finally with Marias' help and some fire they clear the vaqueros out and free her. Cuthbert and Alain wake Roland up after the Ball took him, and he tells them of their quest for the Dark Tower he also tells them that Susan has been taken but he thinks Sheemie will rescue her. Olive, Sheemie, and Susan ride north to escape and they send Sheemie back to throw any pursuers off their trail, but shortly after sending him away Olive and Susan are headed off by Reynolds and Rhea who kill Olive and take Susan in the back of Rhea's cart.     Wizard and Glass Book Club #34 (Pt3, Ch10 Sc1-6)

    📖 Section Covered: Part 3, Chapter 10 Subchapters 1-6 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter enter the final chapter of Part 3 and in this we have Coral Thorin now in custody of Susan at Seafront and like everyone else this day she hits Susan for some of the barbs she throws. The Traveller's Rest is packed with more than 200 people but it is as quiet as a wake until Rhea and Cordelia come in and start to froth the entire group up against Susan and say they must paint her hands, Charyou Tree. Sheemie is following the path of Susan, and first runs afoul Capi but eventually gets to Seafront and runs into Olive Thorin who wants to help Susan. Then we join Roland inside the ball and get some of the biggest pieces of information about The Dark Tower to date and we see things we have already seen but are in Roland's future.     📖 Section Covered: Part 3, Chapter 9 Subchapters 18-23 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter are now arriving at the Battle of Reaping Day. Reynolds is hurrying Susan back to Seafront, getting more uneasy as time goes. Cordelia is visited by the nearly depleted Rhea and the two begin to conspire & Rhea is refreshed by Cordelia. Roland and his Tet wait in the tall grass and are nearly discovered by Jonas's party. After they pass the boys set into action, stealthy riding up behind them taking people out quietly taking out a chunk of them before the enemy even knew they were under attack. Then the gunfire. Roland, Cuthbert, and Alain massacre almost the entire party including Roy and Jonas.
