Today we're talking about high strangeness. Coined by renowned astronomer and UFO investigator Dr. J. Allen Hynek, "high strangeness" describes UFO or paranormal events that are so inherently bizarre, peculiar, and absurd that they defy straightforward rationalization.
James starts the show by talking about Sam the Sandown Clown. In May 1973, two children playing near Sandown were drawn into a swampy area by a weird noise. Upon crossing a wooden bridge, the children encountered a mysterious figure that appeared to be a mix between a robot and a clown.
The story of Gary Sudbrink. In 1993, 27-year-old Gary Sudbrink was at his parent's home in New York. During that time, Gary's parents would receive a series of strange phone calls. The caller on the other end spoke in a strange, mechanical voice and made a number of weird statements, alluding to Gary being impersonated by someone else.
The next story James tells is the story of Henry McCabe. In 2015, Henry McCabe left a voicemail for his wife, Karen. Karen had went to California, but Henry stayed behind at their home in Minnesota. The voicemail features two minutes of undecipherable noises, including what sound like growls and moans of pain. Near the end of the voicemail, the sounds suddenly stop and a voice can be heard saying, "Stop it." 31-year-old Henry McCabe was officially reported missing the following morning. They found him several weeks later in a lake they had searched multiple times.
James wraps up the show by talking about the Dover Demon.
