DAYBREAK | Stretch Forth Thy Hand
It is Monday morning, September 7—and Labor Day in America.
In today’s Daybreak, Adrian and Clara begin with Luke 6:6–11 from the Douay-Rheims, where Jesus encounters a man with a withered hand and gives him an extraordinary command:
“Stretch forth thy hand.”
Christ asks the man to attempt the very thing he cannot do—and somehow, in responding, he discovers that what had withered can be made whole.
From there, we consider work and rest, Sabbath and mercy, rules and the human person, and look around the Common Room at what’s happening at Benedictine College and beyond.
