Check Me Boomer

Check Me Boomer is a weekly father-daughter podcast about reality TV. Dad's obsessed with Bravo. Maybe even more so than Isabella.

Every week, the show covers the Real Housewives franchises (Beverly Hills, New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, Potomac, Salt Lake City, and Rhode Island), along with Summer House, In the City, Next Gen NYC, Southern Charm, Ladies of London, Southern Hospitality, The Valley, Love Island, and whatever else pulls them in. Sometimes they agree. Sometimes they don't. Either way, listeners get two people who actually love reality TV, working through it together. What they watched, what they side-eyed, and what they can't stop thinking about.

Dad watches almost everything. Isabella watches everything too, plus catches every clip, group chat, and podcast take the internet has to offer. So the conversation runs from what happened on screen to what the fans are saying about it. Honest takes on the drama, the cast dynamics, and the moments worth rewinding.

New episodes drop every week.

Angie hands out toothbrushes in San Francisco, Erin and Hailey go to war over a tabloid story, and Dad delivers a public service announcement on how to stop bleeding. Plus Below Deck Med, RHONY's weirdest mom scene, and Dad's Survivor rant. On RHOSLC, Lisa claims regular Oscars invitations, Angie's toothbrush gifts take aim at Quai, and Whitney lands in the middle again. Return of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and RHOSLC
Nobody's turning up for Vicki, Luann can't stop talking, and a Mormon Wives best friend just got caught with the wrong ex. Plus the RHONY reboot's new faces, a somber Salt Lake City premiere, Below Deck meltdowns, and part one of the Next Gen NYC reunion. Dad and Isabella are back after a week off with a packed Bravo recap. On The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, the Miami stop goes sideways as nobody turns up for Vicki, Luann drinks her way through a lunch, and Lisa and Teresa's new duo raises eyebrows. Over on the rebooted Real Housewives of New York, they meet the new crew, including Daisy, Erika, and Hailey, while Carole Radziwill makes her return. Then it's on to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, where Taylor Frankie Paul's chaos keeps escalating and the Dakota, Miranda, and Layla fallout gets messier by the episode. The father and daughter also cover the somber Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premiere, which gives Mary Cosby space to grieve, along with new romances for Bronwyn and Heather and Whitney's looming apology tour. Rounding things out, Below Deck Mediterranean delivers a stew feud, a dish-rag revenge plot, and a guest-injury cliffhanger, and the Next Gen NYC reunion kicks off part one with Ariana, Charlie, Riley, and Georgia all in the mix. The Atlanta reunion finally wraps, the Housewives mark 20 years on the Ultimate Girls Trip, and a much-discussed new Netflix documentary gets a serious look. Dad and Isabella open on the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, part three, as Kelli Ferrell and Phaedra Parks spar over a divorce-lawyer bill, Angela keeps after Kelli about money and her new teeth, Porsha Williams and Shamea stay at a standoff, and Drew Sidora answers for the horse. The talk then moves to The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip and its 20th-anniversary reunion, from Kyle Richards' white party and Luann de Lesseps' cabaret entrance to Vicki Gunvalson, plus Gizelle Bryant and Porsha working both sides of the Salt Lake City rift between Whitney Rose, Bronwyn Newport, Lisa Barlow, and Meredith Marks. Reunions and Reckonings: RHOA, The Valley, and Ultimate Girls Trip
It's a reunion-heavy week as Dad and Isabella break down the Bravo slate — the Ultimate Girls Trip crew touching down in Beverly Hills, an explosive Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, and The Valley's Season 3 finale reckoning. On this episode of Check Me Boomer, father and daughter Dad and Isabella open with Bravo's Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, where the group leaves Orange County for the Beverly Hilton and the tension between Vicki Gunvalson and Gizelle Bryant boils over, alongside Vicki's surprise apology to Teresa Giudice, a plate-sharing standoff with Luann de Lesseps, and Kyle Richards navigating her separation. They then dig into Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion: the K. Michelle and Kelli Ferrell pre-reunion blowup, the Shamea and Porsha family feud, Pinky Cole's bankruptcy defense, Cynthia Bailey's new song, and a cryptic "device" storyline. From there the conversation stays on Bravo. Next Gen NYC's love triangle builds between Ariana Biermann, Charlie Zakkour, and Liam Obergfoll, while Shai Fruchter and Brooks Marks find a rare mature reset and the news of Kandi and Todd's divorce lands hard for Riley Burruss. On Below Deck Mediterranean, Max returns as a jolt of energy while Captain Sandy's crew wrestles with an especially demanding charter. And The Valley closes its season with a Part 3 reunion centered on Danny Booko's drinking, Lala Kent's pointed advice to Nia, Janet Caperna's emotional moment, and Kristen Doute's change of heart. Beyond Bravo, the two step into documentaries: a new Boeing exposé (Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing) that left them both rattled about flying, and Netflix's Quarterback, following Baker Mayfield, Joe Flacco, Jayden Daniels, and Cam Ward across the NFL season. Isabella also closes the book on Stassi Schroeder's series House of Stassi. --- Find us: https://checkmeboomer.com TikTok @check.me.boomer · Instagram @checkmeboomer · Facebook @checkmeboomer Music: "Goodbye to Joey" by The Mundahs, used with permission. "Shall we have one more kiss?": Love Island UK says goodbye, plus The Valley and Next Gen NYC
Isabella and Dad close out the villa for the season, still not exactly agreeing on Julia. Plus: a stacked Bravo week with The Valley finale, the In the City reunion, Atlanta, Below Deck Med, and Next Gen NYC, a Big Brother update, and another episode of "Name that Bravolebrity" guessing game. Love Island UK takes its final bow this week. The old islanders return for a brutal judgment day vote, Mica and Samraj get dumped and take Tommy and Yas down with them, and the season narrows to three couples ahead of a mercifully short (for Dad) one-hour finale. Dad and Isabella dig back into their season-long split over Julia, with Isabella walking her stance back just a little and offering some grace, and they trade picks for the season's main characters, landing on Ellie and Aiden. The best moment of the night: Aiden and Priya, freshly dumped, saying the nicest things about each other at the farewell dinner before he caps it off with, shall we have one more kiss. Then the Bravo pile-up. Real Housewives of Atlanta serves a Halloween party, a savage text from Porsha to Shamea, and a wave of nostalgia for the NeNe Leakes era. Below Deck Med sends Luke packing, gives Chef Joy a heartfelt backstory, and rides out a storm short-handed while Nathan teeters on quitting. The In the City reunion turns vicious, with Kenny telling Lindsay she collects apologies like souls and the Danielle feud refusing to die, and The Valley finale ends with Danny hammered and Janet launching a drink at him, "tiny fool!" included. Next Gen NYC closes it out as Charlie half-apologizes to Amira, Ariana keeps winning Isabella over, and Shai's upcycled clothing line gets left on read. This week also debuts a new episode of "Name that Bravolebrity" photo game, with Isabella quizzing Dad on faces from Real Housewives of New Jersey and beyond, plus a quick Big Brother check-in on a houseguest driving the whole house crazy. And the documentary thread continues, as Dad reports back on A Toxic Love Story and floats a Netflix film about Kalshi and Polymarket. With Love Island now wrapped, Dad and Isabella signal a shift toward deeper Bravo coverage and more comparison to older seasons, and they're still asking listeners to send documentary recommendations. --- Find us: https://checkmeboomer.com Instagram @checkmeboomer · Facebook @checkmeboomer Music: "Goodbye to Joey" by The Mundahs, used with permission. Team Priya or Team Julia? Love Island UK and more
Dad and Isabella land on opposite sides of Love Island UK's most divisive islander as the Grafties and Maya Jama's new podcast game blow the villa wide open and Aiden gets exposed as its biggest flip-flopper. Plus: Love Island USA's messy aftermath with Nick and Olandria's split and Kenny's tell-all, Bravo breakups in Salt Lake City, a Big Brother check-in, and Next Gen NYC, Below Deck Med, Atlanta, In the City, and The Valley. Love Island takes over this week. In the UK, the Grafties and Maya Jama's new podcast game turn the villa into a battlefield, and Dad and Isabella split hard over Julia, the season's most divisive islander, with one defending her bluntness and the other worn out by it. Aiden gets exposed as a serial flip-flopper caught between Priya and Jasmine's sister, Samraj and Priya reignite their feud, Ethan is dumped right after an awkward family day, and three couples head into the public vote vulnerable. On the USA side the season is over but the fallout isn't: Nick and Olandria have split, and a season six rivalry flares back up as Kenny takes his breakup with JaNa to a tell-all podcast while Kordell and others rush to JaNa's defense. Isabella also checks in on Big Brother, where houseguest Angela torches a fake-crier at the nomination table. On the Bravo side, Next Gen NYC's Charlie keeps building his villain edit with quotable one-liners and a murky real-life backstory, Below Deck Med juggles a yacht matchmaker with Captain Sandy's report on the Luke and Nathan mess, and Real Housewives of Atlanta wanders through Scotland with Shamea, Porsha, and Phaedra's new "Lady of the Glen" title. The In the City reunion sorts out Kyle, Amanda, and Lindsay Hubbard, The Valley drops in on Luke Broderick and Kristen in couples therapy, and Salt Lake City loses two couples in a week as Angie Katsanevas and Whitney Rose both announce splits. This week also marks a new direction for the show, as Dad and Isabella step outside reality TV to briefly start weighing in on documentaries. Dad makes his case for Building a Mystery, the Lilith Fair film on Hulu about Sarah McLachlan's groundbreaking all-women festival and how the music industry treated women at the time, a tour he admits he dismissed back then and now regrets missing. Isabella counters with a run of recent Netflix true crime, including A Toxic Love Story, the high-school-catfish stunner Unknown Number, and the brutal Maternal Instinct. It's a deliberate widening of what the show covers, and they close by asking listeners to send documentary recommendations for future episodes. --- Find us: https://checkmeboomer.com Instagram @checkmeboomer · Facebook @checkmeboomer Music: "Goodbye to Joey" by The Mundahs, used with permission. "Top Model in Cowboy Boots": Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders + Love Island UK
Dad and Isabella review the entire new season of Netflix's Emmy-nominated America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, plus the Love Island USA finale, Love Island UK, and the week in Bravo. This week a father and daughter add a new show to the lineup: America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on Netflix, freshly Emmy nominated for its third season. Dad led this one, covering director Greg Whiteley's no-narration style, the athleticism behind jump splits in cowboy boots, a makeover day that felt straight out of America's Next Top Model, the pay fight that changed the squad, and the real-time social media scrutiny facing Reece, Faith, Savanna, Emily A, and the rest of the 2025-26 team, with Kelli and Judy presiding over the toughest cuts yet. Before that, the Love Island USA finale gets a quick wrap-up, and Love Island UK takes center stage as the season enters its final weeks. Then the Bravo rundown: the Shamea and Porsha fallout on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, a galley scandal boiling over on Below Deck Mediterranean, quick hits on The Valley, In the City, and Next Gen NYC, and a new round of the game where Isabella tests Dad's Bravolebrity memory. --- Find us: https://checkmeboomer.com Instagram @checkmeboomer · Facebook @checkmeboomer Music: "Goodbye to Joey" by The Mundahs, used with permission. "Today has irritated my whole existence" Love Island UK, USA and more
Dad's fully saturated on Love Island USA just as the finale hits, but Love Island UK's movie night has both Dad and Isabella locked in, including Lola vs. Julia, and Ellie one bombshell from walking out. Plus: Melanie's family stages an intervention over Sincere, Below Deck Med's Game of Thrones "shame" walk, The Valley, In the City, and Next Gen NYC. On Love Island USA, the season grinds toward its finale with four couples left standing (Bryce and Trinity, Melanie and Sincere, Carl and Aniya, Kayda and Zach) after a karaoke-night dumping sends Corbin and Parmida home. Family day turns heavy as Melanie's mother and sister beg her to walk away from Sincere, and Isabella lays out her finale predictions plus her guesses on which couples actually survive the real world, with Aftersun notes on Ciara's Summer House move and the islanders' winner votes. Over on Love Island UK, the post-Casa Amor smoke still hasn't cleared: movie night exposes Jasmine and Lorenzo, Lola digs in hard on Julia, Simba grovels his way back toward Angie, and Ellie sits one bombshell away from walking out on Finley. The Bravo side runs lighter this week with Atlanta off. Below Deck Med lands a standout (a Game of Thrones charter group, the "shame" walk, and the Gen, Luke, and Nathan fallout), while The Valley digs into Janet's backstory, Lala's refusal to back down, and the strain between Nia and Danny. Summer House: In the City serves Kyle's DJ-gig drama and Amanda's thick irony, Next Gen NYC sets Brooke Shields against Kim Zolciak (with Riley's mean-girl turn), and Dad delivers a quick, weary verdict on McBee Dynasty. --- Find us: https://checkmeboomer.com Instagram @checkmeboomer · Facebook @checkmeboomer · TikTok check.me.boomer Music: "Goodbye to Joey" by The Mundahs, used with permission. "A kiss is like a handshake"
Casa Amor takes both villas. The UK dives in as the USA aftermath detonates on movie night, and Melanie draws a line: "I'd rather you respect me than pick me." On Love Island UK, Casa Amor recouples with new faces on both sides. Kavan brings back Charlene, Simba brings back Mara, and Simba draws fire as a new contender for worst boy of the season. On the USA side, movie night surfaces what actually happened in Casa: Sincere's parade of beloveds, the girls' least-compatible vote, and Melanie's pep talk to Anaya that lands as one of the season's standout moments. Beyond the islands: the Real Housewives of Rhode Island reunion goes two rounds, with Rulla exposed, Jo Ellen digging in, and Brian the foot doctor unmasked at the reunion couch. Real Housewives of Atlanta heads to Scotland, Below Deck Med hosts its worst charter guest yet, and The Valley, In the City, and Next Gen NYC, plus a Brielle Biermann sighting, round out the week. "Is this Bad Girls Club?"
It was Casa Amor week on Love Island USA — twelve new guys for the girls, a recoupling that detonated the villa, and the line that summed it all up: "Is this Bad Girls Club?" Plus Love Island UK dumpings, a Rhode Island reunion, RHOA, Below Deck Med, and Dad's airing of grievances. Two villas, one chaotic week. We break down the Love Island USA recoupling couple by couple — who came back, who stayed loyal, and who's already unraveling — then cross the pond for the UK's Public Tea vs. Villa Receipts game and a clearing-house round of dumpings. Beyond the Love Islands: the Real Housewives of Rhode Island reunion kicks off, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Below Deck Med's worst-guest-ever, The Valley, McBee Dynasty, In the City, Next Gen NYC, and Netflix survival show Outlast: The Jungle. Then Dad airs his grievances — love languages, Peacock's menus, poor grammar, and slow and meandering walkers in airports. "You had two girls, now you have none!" plus Summer House and Love Island USA
We cover the bonanza of bombshells on Love Island UK, Sincere (is he?) and Sol and Melanie and other Love Island USA key moments, Southern Hospitality, Real Housewives of Atlanta and Rhode Island, plus In the City and Below Deck Med. We also ask whether Dad's lack of familiarity with slang is because he's old or if they are UK specific. Introduction
In this bonus episode, we include a bit about our backgrounds, how we came up with the show name, and how Isabella used to sneak and watch Jersey Shore when she was little. We also spill the tea on how Dad isn't really a boomer, how Isabella got Dad addicted to reality TV, some of the shows we plan to cover, and our top-three franchise shows. --- Find us: https://checkmeboomer.com Instagram @checkmeboomer · Facebook @checkmeboomer Music: "Goodbye to Joey" by The Mundahs, used with permission.
