Portia Emare also known as POEM Is a British singer songwriter of dual heritage, Irish, Nigerian and Mancunian. Her own style is classic and soulful with twist of world values that resonate with the society we live in today. Portia’s training began at an early age when she earned a scholarship to a theatre school at age 11. Over her career, she has built an extensive background across London’s West End, international stage productions, and solo recording projects. Key Highlights & Career Milestones Musical Theatre & Stage: Her prominent stage roles include performing as a leading lady in West End and touring productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair (including at the Ljubljana Festival in Slovenia), Priscilla Queen of the Desert (as Diva), Mamma Mia!, and as Nala in the Paris production of The Lion King. Live Vocal Performance: She has performed across major venues and festivals globally, including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, Birdland Jazz Cafe, Lovebox Festival, Wireless, SBTV A64, and the Olivier Awards.
