And Got His Life Back S3E78

Ron Karle has lost more than 260 pounds on a Carnivore diet - and his transformation goes far beyond the number on the scale. After reaching 472 pounds, Ron had become severely limited by his weight. Walking was difficult, arthritis and joint pain restricted his movement, he struggled with carpal tunnel syndrome, and everyday tasks such as putting on his socks, cutting his toenails, shopping for groceries, and climbing stairs had become major challenges. Then, in April 2024, Ron decided to try Carnivore. Within weeks, the scale began moving faster than it had during years of calorie restriction. As the weight came off, Ron experienced dramatic improvements in mobility and quality of life. He went from a 64-inch waist-size pant to a 40, from 6XL shirts to large, and from barely being able to walk to regularly taking mile-long walks, shopping for himself, shoveling snow, and playing guitar for hours again. In this episode, Ron shares what happened, what he eats, how he approaches Carnivore long-term, his experience with cravings and Carnivore-friendly treats, and why he believes people struggling with severe obesity need a different approach than simply being told to “eat less and move more.” We also discuss the controversial question of exercise and obesity, metabolic health, sugar and artificial sweeteners, sustainable Carnivore eating, and the importance of sharing real-world experiences. Most importantly, Ron’s story is a powerful reminder that sometimes the biggest transformation isn’t simply losing weight - it’s getting your life back.

In this episode, Ron shares what happened, what he eats, how he approaches Carnivore long-term, his experience with cravings and Carnivore-friendly treats, and why he believes people struggling with severe obesity need a different approach than simply being told to “eat less and move more.”

We also discuss the controversial question of exercise and obesity, metabolic health, sugar and artificial sweeteners, sustainable Carnivore eating, and the importance of sharing real-world experiences.

Most importantly, Ron’s story is a powerful reminder that sometimes the biggest transformation isn’t simply losing weight - it’s getting your life back.
