Career Confidence

Georgie Hubbard

Not behind. Unpositioned. Career Confidence is for leaders ready to make their next bold move in the age of AI.

Hosted by Georgie Hubbard, career coach, recruiter, Director of CH Talent Solutions, and creator of the Bold Moves Career Accelerator, this show is for senior leaders who've already done the proving and are ready for what's next.

Each episode brings honest conversations with business leaders and women who've navigated real turning points: the restructure, the redundancy, the promotion that went to someone else, the AI shift nobody prepared them for. Real strategy, not just inspiration. The language, positioning, and clarity to make your next move the right one, not just the first one offered.

Whether you're overlooked for a role you know you're ready for, in motion after a restructure, or applying and not landing, this podcast gives you the frameworks and the permission to back yourself, in a market where AI is changing what gets you chosen.

Clarity creates calm. Calm creates confidence. Confidence creates momentum. That's Career Confidence.

Want a New Role Before Christmas? Make These 5 Moves Now

September is one of the most important hiring windows of the year. If you want to make a move before Christmas, this is the time to get strategic. The market is still tight. Recruiters are flooded with applications. AI is increasingly being used to search, screen and shortlist candidates. So sending the same CV to every role and hoping for the best is no longer enough. ___________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ___________ In this episode, I’m breaking down the five-part strategy I’m teaching women inside the Bold Move Career Accelerator right now: Clarity. Network. Positioning. Tailored CV. Visibility. And I’m sharing exactly why each one matters. One woman had applied for a role and heard nothing for four weeks. She reached out to one person she knew inside the company and, within 24 hours, she had an interview and was moved through to the next round. Another woman repositioned her LinkedIn profile and, within roughly 40 hours, a recruiter contacted her about a role she genuinely wanted. This episode is for you if you’re applying and hearing nothing, wondering why your experience isn’t translating into interviews, or simply want a clearer plan to help you land the right role before the end of the year. In this episode: Why September is such an important hiring window How to get clear on the role, company, environment and culture you actually want next Why your network is one of your biggest career assets How to activate relationships strategically without networking feeling awkward Why recruiters are increasingly using AI and LinkedIn search tools to find candidates How to position your LinkedIn profile around where you’re going, not just where you’ve been Why tailoring your CV is now non-negotiable Why five strong applications can be more effective than 50 generic ones How AI is changing screening and first-stage hiring Why visibility is becoming career currency How posting and commenting can create opportunities you never applied for The five-part strategy: clarity, network, positioning, tailored CV and visibility The goal isn’t more applications. It’s more choice, options and the right opportunities. If you want a new role before Christmas, make these five moves now. ___________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ___________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com

Why Applying Online Isn’t Enough Anymore: The Network Advantage Senior Women Need in the Age of AI

The job market is changing fast. More people are applying. AI is increasingly being used to filter applications. New roles are emerging. And some incredibly capable women are finding themselves applying for opportunities they could absolutely do, but never even making it to interview. ___________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ___________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ___________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ___________ Connect with Lou Compagnone: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/loucompagnone/ ___________ Connect with Adair Robins: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/adair-robins/ ___________ So what actually gets you seen? In this episode, Georgie Hubbard and Lou Compagnoni are joined by Adair, a transformation and diversity leader who has spent much of her career working across technology and helping more women build and sustain careers in the industry. Adair shares her own experience of applying for roles and hearing very little back, until someone in her network referred her. Suddenly, the process moved incredibly quickly. It’s a powerful reminder that in today’s market, your experience matters, your CV matters, but so does who knows you, what they know you for and whether you’ve built relationships before you need them. The conversation also explores why women are leaving technical careers at a higher rate than men, what AI means for women returning from career breaks, why flexibility still matters, and the growing opportunity for women to step into emerging AI and transformation roles. In this episode: Why women are leaving highly technical careers at almost twice the rate of men during mid-career Why age 40 is such a critical point for women working in technology What happens when career progression collides with caring responsibilities Why organisations that want more women need to rethink flexibility, hiring and workplace culture How quickly technology and AI can change while someone is on parental or carers leave Why structured reskilling can rebuild confidence after a career break Why some of the most exciting new AI roles require far more than traditional technical skills Why brilliant women are still being overlooked for emerging AI leadership opportunities Why referrals and relationships can dramatically change your job search Georgie’s experience receiving almost 600 applications for a single role Why relying solely on job boards is becoming an increasingly difficult strategy How to network without becoming someone you’re not Why LinkedIn visibility and personal brand matter more in an AI-driven hiring market How to use AI to improve your CV without removing the stories, personality and impact that make you different Why continual learning needs to become part of your career strategy, regardless of your role One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? Opportunities come through people, not job boards. You don’t need hundreds of transactional connections or to spend every night at networking events. Start with the people already around you. Former managers. Colleagues. Clients. Stakeholders. People you’ve enjoyed working with throughout your career. Stay connected. Share what you’re working on. Be visible. Help people understand where you’re heading next. Because your network shouldn’t be something you start building when you suddenly need a job. It’s career currency you build long before you need to spend it. The 3-Part Career Strategy Senior Women Need Now: Network, Brand, and Value (Here's How to Start) With Transformation Leader, Maryanne.

You don't need to be the loudest voice in the room to build a powerful career. You just need to know what you bring, and make sure the right people can find you. ___________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ___________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ___________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ___________ Connect with Maryanne Thomas: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/maryannethomas/ ___________ This episode is for every senior woman who's been keeping her head down doing excellent work and hoping that's enough. For every woman who knows she should be networking but doesn't know where to start. For every woman who's terrified of putting herself out there on LinkedIn because she doesn't want to look like she's showing off. Maryanne has spent her career jumping before she was ready. From Queensland to Melbourne. From no tech experience to leading transformation programs at Origin Energy and now in retail. From staying invisible to posting on LinkedIn every week, even when it terrified her. From letting her network slip to building it with intention. And from hoping someone would notice her work to making sure the right people know exactly what she brings. This conversation is about the three things senior women need to focus on right now if they want to stay relevant, visible, and in demand: network, brand, and value. It's about why the old playbook of working hard and waiting to be noticed doesn't work anymore. It's about why networking as a woman doesn't have to look like the male version. And it's about the mindset shift that changes everything: you don't need to be perfect, you just need to start. Maryanne shares how she's using AI to build her personal brand without losing her voice. Why she moved to 80% work to be there for her daughter starting prep, and how she's teaching her to be willful, not quiet. Why she signed up for cold water swimming in winter to challenge herself. And the one thing she wishes she'd done earlier in her career: build her network before she needed it. If you've been waiting for permission to start building your visibility, this is it. ___________ In This Episode: 🟣 Why Maryanne has always jumped before she was ready, and how that's shaped her entire career 🟣 From Queensland to Melbourne, from no tech degree to leading digital transformation at Origin Energy 🟣 The three things senior women need to focus on right now: network, brand, and value 🟣 Why Maryanne didn't build her network well enough early on, and what she's doing differently now 🟣 How she's using AI to build her personal brand on LinkedIn, even though social media terrified her 🟣 Why she started posting on LinkedIn this year as her personal challenge, and how it's made her a better storyteller 🟣 The leadership skills that matter most right now: empathy, trust, and the courage to call out what's not working 🟣 Why doing more with less is the reality for every leader right now, and how to navigate that without burning out your team 🟣 How AI is being used in retail to solve inventory problems, and why clean data is the foundation 🟣 Why half of the internet is now created by AI, and what that means for women in tech 🟣 How Maryanne is teaching her six year old daughter to be willful, not quiet, and why that matters 🟣 Why networking as a woman doesn't have to look like the male version, and the WhatsApp group strategy that works 🟣 What Maryanne is doing to stay ahead of the AI era without getting overwhelmed 🟣 The mindset shift from hoping someone will notice your work to making sure the right people know exactly what you bring ___________ If this episode resonated with you, reach out to Maryanne on LinkedIn. Let her know your biggest takeaway. The women who get chosen aren't always the most experienced. They're the ones who are visible, connected, and clear on what they bring. The future belongs to the women who are ready for it. Let's make sure that's you. Georgie 💜

Only 13% of women hold C-suite roles in AI, across 27 countries. We're still chasing our tail on the gender pay gap, still fighting for more women in leadership, and now AI is reshaping the entire workforce with women's voices dangerously underrepresented before the wave has even properly started. This episode is for every woman who's applied for AI roles and heard nothing back. For every woman who thinks she's too far behind, or not technical enough, or doesn't have the right experience. For every woman who's kept her head down doing excellent work and hoped that would be enough. It's not enough anymore. The old playbook doesn't work. The women who get chosen for AI roles aren't always the most technical. They're the ones who are visible, connected, and strategic. They understand AI is a people problem, not just a technology problem. Lou and I catch up after a few weeks apart. She's just back from Stanford, where she completed the AI-Powered Organisation course. I'm back from the UK, where I noticed something striking: AI is everywhere. My parents are using it. My nan is using it. And my brother, a professional golfer with zero technical experience, built himself a website using Claude in three hours flat. He then built one for the new owners of his golf club too, made himself impossible to overlook, and he's now in discussions about a promotion. This conversation is about what happens when you stop waiting to feel ready and start positioning yourself for what's next. Why the most successful AI agent at Stanford wasn't built by the most technical person in the room. Why hurt people hurt people, and how Lou handles the trolling that comes with being a woman speaking publicly about AI. And the one mindset shift that changes everything. Don't try to become someone else. Add AI to what you already know. If you've been waiting for permission to start, this is it. ___________ In This Episode: 🟣 Why only 13% of women hold C-suite roles in AI across 27 countries, and what that means for the future of work 🟣 Lou's experience at Stanford: the AI-Powered Organisation course, and why transformation matters more than technology 🟣 The woman who won the AI agent challenge wasn't the most technical. She was the one who understood the problem. 🟣 Why Lou got trolled online for talking about AI as a transformation role, and how to handle being a woman in the public eye 🟣 Georgie's brother: a pro golfer with zero tech experience who built a website in three hours and positioned himself for a promotion 🟣 Why AI is everywhere in the UK and the US, but Australia is still catching up 🟣 The disconnect between companies hiring for AI roles and not knowing what they actually need 🟣 Why women are finding it harder to break into AI roles, and what you can do about it right now 🟣 How to disrupt yourself before you're disrupted: the one question you need to ask yourself today 🟣 Why technical people are feeling threatened, and what that means for women entering the AI space 🟣 The mindset shift: don't try to become someone else. 12 Years Recruiting. I've Never Seen a Job Market Like This (Here's What's Working Now)

After 12 years in recruitment, I can tell you this: I have never seen a job market quite like this one. And the women who get chosen aren't the ones waiting for things to settle. They're the ones reading the shift early and positioning themselves before the market does it for them. ___________ ✨ Apply for the 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ___________ This episode is for every woman who's been applying for roles and hearing nothing back. For every woman who's wondering why her experience isn't translating into interviews. For every woman who's starting to feel like the old playbook doesn't work anymore. Because it doesn't. The old way was simple: apply online, send your CV, wait for the call. The new way requires something different. You need to be easy to find. Easy to understand. Easy to remember. And easy to choose. In this episode, I break down exactly what's working in the market right now. Why applying online isn't enough. Why your LinkedIn profile needs to be searchable, not just presentable. Why your CV needs to be tailored to every single role, not just updated. And why your network is the most valuable career asset you have, whether you're actively looking or not. I also share the new rules that matter: get explicitly clear on what you want, position yourself for those roles, package yourself correctly on LinkedIn and your CV, activate your network before you need it, and show up visibly so the right people can find you. This isn't about doing more. It's about doing the right things strategically. And if you've been keeping your head down doing excellent work and hoping that's enough, this episode will show you exactly what's missing. ___________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ___________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ___________ Chapters 00:00 The market has changed, and what that means for you 00:23 Why this episode is unfiltered 01:25 Three weeks in the UK, family, and the value of stepping away 03:06 What women have been saying since Georgie got back 03:41 Twelve years recruiting, and a market she has never seen before 04:16 Inside organisations right now: hiring on pause, AI investment, slower decisions 06:34 What used to work, and why it stopped working 06:50 Why your application is not reaching a human 08:33 Rule one: get explicitly clear on what you want next 10:17 Rule two: position yourself for the role you want, not the one you have had 11:22 Rule three: a CV tailored to the job, not your entire history 12:17 Rule four: activate your network before you need it 13:19 Rule five: visibility, and the shift from SEO to AEO 15:16 Easy to find, easy to understand, easy to remember, easy to choose 15:40 The CV test: so what? What changed because you were there? 17:12 LinkedIn is prime real estate: headline, about, skills, activity 19:01 One coffee a week, and why you should never ignore a recruiter 20:01 Nobody is thinking about your post as much as you are 20:45 Interviews: you can always tell who prepared 23:00 Do not wait until you are desperate 23:44 What happens inside Bold Moves 26:20 Final thought, and what is coming next on the podcast What you'll take away The market changed, and it is not your fault. Fewer roles, more competition, and organisations taking far longer to decide. Clarity comes first. You cannot position yourself for something you have not named. Most women can list what they do not want. Far fewer can say what they do. Your LinkedIn is optimised for the roles you want, not the roles you have had. If it reflects your past, you will keep attracting your past. Every line on your CV has to answer "so what?" Responsibilities are what everyone lists. Outcomes are what get you shortlisted. Build the relationship before you need it. One coffee a week with a recruiter, an old colleague or a former manager. Visibility is an investment, not showing off. AI models pull from LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit and Wikipedia. Being findable now is what makes you findable later. with confidence Georgie 💜

Get the full list → https://www.georgiehubbard.com/ai-courses ___________ Georgie and Lou are taking a short break from AI Ready Women. Georgie's back in the UK with family and Lou is travelling for work, and they'll be back on the mic together again soon. Rather than go quiet, they've left you the library. Georgie sends to senior women who know they need to get current on AI and have no idea where to start. Don't start with 45. Start with three. Georgie's shortlist — about seven hours all in: 1. Generative AI Explained (NVIDIA) — one hour, no code, free digital badge at the end. The fastest way to stop feeling behind. 2. Career Essentials in Generative AI (Microsoft & LinkedIn) — three to four hours. This certificate posts straight to your LinkedIn profile, where recruiters are actually looking. 3. AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations (Anthropic) — three hours. Built for women who lead teams rather than build things. How to make AI decisions, not how to write code. One honest note: 36 of the 45 are completely free with a certificate. The rest are free to study but charge for the certificate — they're marked on the page. Why this matters more than it sounds like it should This isn't about becoming a data scientist. After 12 years inside recruitment, the pattern Georgie sees is this: the women who get approached for the roles that matter are not the most technical women in the room. They're the most legible ones, the women whose profile makes it obvious, in seconds, that they've kept up. A named certificate does that before anyone has read a single line of your experience. So pick one. Start it this week. Let confidence catch up. ___________ 🎓 The AI course library — 45 certifications, 36 free 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/ai-courses ___________ ✨ Bold Move Career Accelerator — eight weeks, small cohort, for senior women ready to make the move rather than read about it 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ___________ 📚 The Bold Move (the book) 👉 https://www.theboldmovebook.com ___________ One thing before you go. It's about the one mistake that's costing you opportunities you don't even know exist. And it's about the three types of networks you need to activate right now if you want to get seen, get hired, and stop sending CVs into the void. I break down the exact strategy I teach inside the Bold Move Career Accelerator: the hot list, the warm list, and the cold list. Who should be on each one. How to reach out without feeling desperate. And what to say to get a response from recruiters and hiring managers in minutes, not weeks. One woman inside the program applied this exact framework and landed a role that was never advertised. Another reached out to two connections at a company, got introduced to the hiring manager, and had an interview within days. This works. But only if you do it. If you've been waiting for the right time to start networking, this is it. If you've been hoping your CV will speak for itself, it won't. Made Redundant and Back in a Role in 2 Weeks: The Visibility Strategy That Works

Two weeks. That's how long it took Jodie Coomer to go from redundancy to landing her next role. And it wasn't luck. It was visibility. Jodie spent 12 years climbing the ladder the traditional way. Junior business analyst. Project manager. Portfolio manager. Head of delivery. Linear. Logical. Safe. Except safe doesn't exist anymore. And Jodie knows that now. When the redundancy conversation came, she wasn't completely surprised. But that didn't make it easier. Five days of shock. Tears. Imposter syndrome. The feeling that she'd been dumped. And then something shifted. She remembered the work she'd already done. The LinkedIn profile she'd optimised. The recruiter relationships she'd been building. The visibility strategy she'd been quietly putting in place. Two weeks later, she was in a new role. A fixed term contract. Not permanent. Anthropic's Fable 5: Shut Down in 3 Days Worldwide (And the Woman Behind the Twist)

Sometimes the most dangerous thing about AI isn't what it can do. It's who gets to decide when to turn it off. Anthropic built the most powerful version of its AI model yet, released it to the public, and then three days later, the US government ordered them to shut it down. Worldwide. For everyone. But here's the twist: the security loop that triggered the shutdown wasn't found by a malicious hacker in a hoodie. It centred around an elegant shift in framing, pointed out by cybersecurity pioneer Katie Moussouri, proving that a simple change in perspective can completely bypass a multi-billion-dollar tech filter. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou unpack the Anthropic drama, the race to build more powerful AI, and what it all means for women trying to stay ahead in a world where the rules are changing faster than anyone can keep up. This is about control. It's about trust. It's about who gets a say in the future we're building. And it's about why women's voices, women's questions, and women's perspectives matter more than ever before. ____________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ____________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ____________ Connect with Lou Compagnone: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/loucompagnone/ ____________ If this episode resonated with you, share it with one woman in your life who needs to hear it right now. While the initial vulnerability testing was documented by researchers at Amazon, Moussouris became a defining voice of this event by publicly challenging the U.S. government's abrupt policy response. From Marketing to AI Leadership: The Career Pivot Senior Women Need to See, with Rebecca Lewis

Welcome to Real Women, Real Talk, a brand new mini series inside the Career Confidence Podcast where we go behind the scenes with incredible women who are navigating career transitions, redundancies, reinvention, and the AI revolution. No fluff. No filters. Just real, raw, honest conversations about what it actually takes to stay relevant, confident, and in demand in a world that's changing faster than ever before. In this first episode, Georgie sits down with Rebecca Lewis, a former Head of Digital Transformation with over eight years of experience leading AI-driven change in heavily regulated industries including telco, energy, legal, and education. Bec is a single mum, a leader who's known for translating between the technical people and the CEOs, and someone who's made bold career moves without letting fear hold her back. This conversation is about mindset, identity shifts, how to lead through AI disruption, and what it really takes to balance being a mum and having a thriving career. Bec shares what she's doing to stay ahead of the AI era, how she's raising her eight year old daughter to think differently, and the career advice she wishes she'd known five years ago. If you've ever felt like you're behind, if you've wondered whether you can have it all, or if you're trying to figure out how to position yourself for the future, this episode is for you. ____________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ____________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ____________ Connect with Rebecca Lewis: 🔵 LinkedIn: Connect with Bec on LinkedIn (link in show notes) ____________ In This Episode: 🟣 Why Bec believes if you're in the room, you're there for a reason, and how that mindset shift changed everything for her career 🟣 From digital marketing to Head of Digital Transformation: how Bec built her career across telco, energy, legal, and education, all heavily regulated industries 🟣 Why Bec went back and did a behavioral economics degree to understand why customers do what they do, and how that led her into the AI space 🟣 How Bec led a complete digital transformation at Vocus, taking the business from 20% to 50% digital first, and then did it all over again for service 🟣 Why AI isn't going to replace jobs, but it will change the way we bring ourselves to market and the things we do on a daily basis 🟣 The biggest concern for graduates: they're going to be expected to go from zero to 1,000, and why the education sector needs to prepare them differently 🟣 What Bec is teaching her eight year old daughter about AI, and why she's both embracing it and combating it at the same time 🟣 The human skills that will matter most: curiosity, analytical thinking, and not trusting data on face value 🟣 Why many CEOs and GMs are putting in AI tools just to say they're doing AI, but they're not really understanding what it can do 🟣 Bec's honest advice for women who are fearful of AI: find someone who's been playing in it for a long time and just sit down and talk to them 🟣 The AI tools Bec is using right now: Claude, Figma for wireframing, N8, and CoPilot, and why she's not a huge fan of ChatGPT 🟣 Why Bec believes women are still sitting in the fear space when it comes to AI 🟣 The old career advice that doesn't work anymore: that you have to choose between being a parent or having a career 🟣 The new bold advice: learn what your glass balls, rubber balls, and concrete balls are, and start setting some of those concrete balls down before you burn out 🟣 What Bec loves to do most: translate between the technical people in the room and the CEOs, because they both speak completely different languages ____________ If this episode resonated with you, reach out to Bec on LinkedIn. In our first conversation with Julianne, we discussed this encyclical before it was released. Now it's here, Lou has read all 42,000 words of it, and the more he reads, the more women he finds inside it. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou sit down again with Julianne Hickey, social justice leader, AI governance expert, and one of the spokespeople for the encyclical in New Zealand. Julianne has met Pope Francis twice, worked in Gaza and Palestine, and now leads AI strategy for a major government organisation. The Bold Move I Kept Off Social Media - 8 weeks, one big leap, and coming home to myself

Sometimes the boldest move is the one you don't announce. The one you make for yourself, not for the algorithm. Eight weeks ago, I left Melbourne. I moved to Queensland. I bought a house. I didn't post about it. I didn't share it on social media. I just did it. And it was one of the hardest, most clarifying decisions I've made in years. This episode is different. It's personal. It's unfiltered. And it's about what happens when your body starts sending you signals that something isn't right, even when everything on paper looks like it's working. I'm recording this from an empty room, sitting on a camp chair, in my new home in Queensland. And I'm sharing the full story of why I left the city, what I learned about values, alignment, and listening to yourself before burnout makes the decision for you. If you've ever felt out of alignment with where you are, even when you can't quite explain why, this one's for you. ____________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ____________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ____________ In This Episode: 🟣 Why I moved to Melbourne CBD after finishing The Bold Move — and why it was exactly the right decision at the time 🟣 The moment I realised the city energy was no longer serving me, and how my body started sending signals before my mind caught up 🟣 The values exercise that changed everything — health, freedom, and growth — and why living out of alignment with them became impossible to ignore 🟣 How I could stand there teaching clarity and values inside the Bold Moves Career Accelerator while I wasn't living aligned with my own 🟣 Why I kept the entire move off social media — and what that taught me about making decisions for yourself, not for external validation 🟣 Why "peace is productive" became my new measure of a good decision — and how feeling calm and aligned made me more effective, not less 🟣 The one regret from The Five Regrets of the Dying that shapes every bold move I make — and the question I asked when I doubted everything: "would I regret not doing this?" 🟣 What happens when you finally listen to the quiet voice that's been trying to get your attention for months 🟣 Why the bold move isn't always the loud one. Sometimes it's the one you make in silence. ____________ If this episode resonated with you, I'd love to hear from you. Send me a message on LinkedIn or Instagram and let me know your biggest takeaway. Have you ever made a decision that felt right in your body before it made sense in your head? Have you ever had to leave something that looked good on paper because it didn't feel good in your life? The bold move is not always the big dramatic career pivot. Sometimes it's the quiet decision to listen to yourself before burnout makes the decision for you. The future belongs to the women who are ready for it. Let's make sure that's you. Georgie 💜

Why Women's Voices Are Missing From AI (And What It Costs Us All) - with Luli Adeyemo

The question we all need to ask all the time is: who's missing? Whose voice is not currently represented? AI is reshaping the world. And while the headlines swing between hype and fear, most women are asking just one question: What does this mean for me? This episode is about what happens when AI makes decisions about people's lives and nobody can explain why. It's about accountability. It's about bias. And it's about governance, not as a handbrake, but as the thing that lets us move faster, safely. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou sit down with Luli Adeyemo, Executive Director of Tech Diversity Foundation, award winning leader with over 30 years in tech, and former BMX world champion. Luli has spent her career asking one question: who's in the room when decisions get made? And right now, when it comes to AI governance, women's voices are dangerously underrepresented. That's not just unfair. It's risky. And it's costing us all. This is the conversation your organisation isn't having. The AI Career Risk Senior Women Don't See Coming (And the 4-Question Framework to Fix It)

Is AI actually a threat to your career — or are you just not reading your market clearly? Here's the 4-question SCAN framework I use with senior women to find out. ⤵️ Most women think the AI threat is whether your job will get automated. But for senior women, women who have spent 15 to 20 years building real experience, that could be the wrong question. A better question: Am I reading my market clearly enough, or am I the last to know that something shifted? After 12 years inside my recruitment business, I can tell you this: the women who get caught off guard are never the least capable ones. They're the ones who were too head down doing excellent work to look up and read what the market was asking for. 👇 Want the scan done FOR you? See exactly where you're exposed and where to position. ⚒️ Scan Tool: https://www.georgiehubbard.com/scan-audit ____________ ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 – The wrong question senior women are asking about AI 0:50 – Why the most capable women get caught off guard 2:15 – Internal feedback vs. market intelligence 3:30 – S: Skills in Demand 5:30 – C: Change Coming 7:15 – A: AI Impact (your "AI-irreplaceable" layer) 9:30 – N: New Problems Emerging 11:15 – The 30-minute SCAN exercise 12:45 – Get your free real-time SCAN ____________ The SCAN Framework: your 4-question career audit for the age of AI: S – Skills in Demand How closely does your current skillset match what employers are actually asking for in roles at your level right now? Not 12 months ago. Now. C – Change Coming How clearly can you see where your function is heading over the next 2-3 years, and what does that mean for someone at your level? A – AI Impact Which parts of your role could AI do adequately right now? And which parts genuinely still require your judgment, your relationships, and your lived experience? N – New Problems Emerging Are you positioning yourself to solve the new problems your industry is now facing? Or are you still primarily known for solving the old ones? ____________ Your Next Step: Before you close this video, open a blank document and write down the four letters: S-C-A-N. Next to S, write down three skills or capability phrases that keep appearing in roles at your level. Ask yourself: do they appear on your LinkedIn profile? Next to C, write down one sentence on where your function is heading in the next few years. If you can't write a sentence, there's a gap. Next to A, write down your three AI-irreplaceable value points. The things you bring that AI cannot replicate. Next to N, write down one new problem emerging in your industry, and one way your existing experience connects to it. That's your SCAN framework. It will take less than 30 minutes and it will tell you more about where you're exposed than any amount of generic career advice ever could. ____________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ____________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ____________ This is not about fear. This is about being the woman who reads her market clearly before the market has to read it for her. The bold move is not a big dramatic career pivot. It's something quieter and harder. It's the decision to stop operating on the assumption that doing excellent work inside your organisation is sufficient. You need to look up from your desk deliberately, regularly, and read what the market around you is actually asking for. This is how you stay relevant — and chosen — in the age of AI. The women I watch get chosen repeatedly across their careers are not always the most experienced. They're the ones who have the clearest market intelligence. That's available to you. And you can start right now. Georgie 💜

The Pope's AI Warning, and Why Women Need to Reclaim Their Agency

The Pope just signed his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, and it's about AI. His warning to the world: protect the human person before artificial intelligence erodes our work, our relationships, and our agency While tech companies race to build agents and automate everything, the Vatican did something unexpected. It created a commission on AI, not to celebrate the technology, but to protect human dignity. And when Pope Leo XIV presented the document, he did it standing beside a co-founder of the AI company Anthropic. What an unexpected twist. So what does this actually mean for women navigating AI at work right now? In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou sit down with Julianne Hickey, a social justice leader, AI governance expert, and former director of Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand. Julianne has met Pope Francis twice, worked in Gaza and Palestine responding to humanitarian disasters, and now leads AI strategy for a major government organisation in New Zealand. This is a conversation about what happens when we stop asking what AI can do, and start asking what it should do. And why the future of AI isn't just a technical question. It's a spiritual one. The Pink-Collar AI Crisis: IBM's CTO Warns Women "Use AI Now or Get Leapfrogged"

Pink-collar jobs, admin, customer service, reception, teaching, and nursing are overwhelmingly held by women. They're also the roles most exposed to AI disruption right now. And the data shows women are using AI less than men. That's the leapfrog risk. And IBM's Chief Technology Officer for Australia and New Zealand wants every woman listening to understand it before the gap gets bigger. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie Hubbard and Lou Compagnoni sit down with Angelica Veness, the CTO who openly says she can't code, and built her career through human-centred design instead. The Career Secrets Women Learn Too Late: with 7-Eleven's CEO, UniSuper's CPO & EY's AI Enablement Lead

There are career lessons that change everything. And most women don't learn them until it's too late. You've worked hard. You've stayed loyal. You've done everything right. But somewhere along the way, the rules changed. And nobody told you. This episode is the live recording from Fearless & Future Ready, our Sisterhood Social event featuring three of Australia's most influential women in business and AI. One of them has never had a set career plan. One spent 26 years at Telstra before becoming a CEO. One is driving AI adoption across 10,000 people. And all three sat in a room and told the truth. This is the conversation most women don't get access to until it's too late. ___________ 🟣 Want to Work With Me? Three C-suite women answered it honestly in the room. 🟣 How women stand out during uncertainty, and why the professionals who get noticed aren't always the hardest working, they're the most visible and the most willing to own a problem. 🟣 How these women created roles that didn't exist by making themselves known, speaking up, solving problems nobody asked them to solve, and taking ownership before they were given permission. 🟣 Julie Watkins has never had a set career plan. What she has instead — and why it's worked better than any plan ever could. 🟣 Fiona Hayes spent 26 years at Telstra, including 12 on the executive team, before becoming CEO of 7-Eleven in 2024.
