Call for Entries

Call for Entries is a podcast exploring the film festival world through the lens of the filmmakers who attend them, the programmers who curate them, and the executive directors who keep them alive. Hosted by filmmaker and AMPAS member Brenden Hubbard, whose producing credits include the Academy Award–winning short Curfew and the feature Before I Disappear, the show offers a firsthand look at the realities of the festival circuit.

Drawing from over a decade of experience developing, producing, and releasing independent films, Hubbard explores the space between submission and screen—where strategy, relationships, and opportunity shape a project’s path. Through conversations with filmmakers, producers, programmers, and industry professionals, Call for Entries examines what actually moves a film forward.
