BorderlinerNotes: Real Therapy Sessions

BorderlinerNotes

Welcome to BorderlinerNotes, a mental health channel focused - at present - mainly on personality disorders like Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).

The channel started as a way to make use of extra interview footage from the documentary film we made named BORDERLINE (more info / watch it at mndflds.com/borderlinethefilm). It has grown into a continued effort to offer information that might help people get a proper diagnosis and good treatment, as well as a place where clinicians and those working in the mental health field can learn to be better treaters. The goal is to democratize access to quality information, create positive change in the mental health field, and to do it artfully and with feeling.

BorderlinerNotes started as extra footage from the documentary BORDERLINE and became a rare resource in mental health education. The channel films real therapy sessions and consults between licensed clinicians and people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder, then releases debriefs with both therapist and client. Clinicians include DBT specialists and experts in personality disorder treatment. The goal is to give people seeking help a look at what good treatment actually looks like, and to give therapists a model for better care. Follow the show and leave a five-star rating if you find it useful.

What All Psychiatrists Should Know About BPD | JOHN GUNDERSON

The full interview w/ Gunderson is now available for tier 2 channel members and at the shop: https://shop.mndflds.com/products Uploaded 19-04-17 John Gunderson, creator of the BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) diagnosis, shares what he thinks every modern psychiatrist should know about Borderline patients. Patients can get better with basic good support, and medications are not the simple answer treaters may be looking for. ------------------- Bio from McLean Hospital: "John G. His seminal studies on BPD helped transform the diagnosis from a psychoanalytic construct into a scientifically proven and internationally recognized disorder and earned him recognition as the “father” of this disorder. He also developed the evidence-based therapy general psychiatric management (GPM), which he and fellow McLean clinicians teach throughout the country."
