Gadge Maharaj of Maharashtra was a great saint who accepted donations only to use them for the welfare of the poor. He owned almost nothing—just old clothes, a blanket, and a clay pot—and never misused even a single rupee. Once, when he fell ill, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar visited him and gifted him two blankets, knowing he would accept nothing for himself. Yet, Gadge Maharaj wished to donate even those blankets to the Chokhamela Dharmashala.
