#27 – Inutu Zaloumis: Should You Build or Buy a House? | Be More Curious Than Critical!
Inutu Zaloumis is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Pam Golding Properties Zambia., She has been building the business since 2008 and today it is one of most trusted and established names within Zambia's real estate industry. In this episode of Beyond the Blueprint, we take a deep dive into her experiences, perspectives and the lessons she has picked up throughout her career and life. We start with one of Inutu’s hot takes: Gen Zs are an entitled generation. We explore the generational differences in how young people view work, hardship, money and success, and how parents can better communicate the realities of life with their children. We then jump into the world of real estate, where Inutu breaks down what real estate actually is, what determines the value of a property, how location and aesthetics influence the market, and some of the key considerations when deciding whether to buy, rent or build. We also explore customary vs. council land, mortgages, title deeds, property investment and some of the common misconceptions people have about real estate. The conversation then takes a turn from property into Inutu’s personal journey and what she is currently navigating in this stage of her life. We talk about the importance of having candid conversations, becoming less compliant as a society, learning to respectfully challenge ideas, and doing so while still respecting hierarchy, our elders and our culture. Lastly, we close with a conversation about her purpose at this stage of her life. Like, comment, and share your thoughts! Beyond the Blueprint is a Vizure Production.
