Episode 742: Julia Holter
On today's episode, I talk to musician Julia Holter. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Julia moved to Los Angeles at the age of six. She studied music from high school through grad school in the CalArts MFA program, and began releasing music on her own starting in 2007 with Phaedra Runs to Russia. In 2011, Leaving Records released her "official debut" Tragedy, and since then, Julia has released nine other albums and scored films like Never Rarely Sometimes Always. Her latest album Materia was just released in August on Domino, and folks, it is wonderful! This is the website for Beginnings, subscribe on Apple Podcasts, follow me on Twitter.
