#270 - Most Deer Hunters Have the Rut All Wrong
Every year, deer hunters count down the days until November. We watch the weather, wait for cold fronts, plan all-day sits, and convince ourselves that the rut is going to change everything. But what if most of us have the rut all wrong? In this episode of Before the Echo, we're challenging some of the biggest misconceptions about hunting the whitetail rut. Does a cold front really make that much difference? Are all-day sits always worth it? Do mature bucks actually throw caution to the wind? And are we putting too much pressure on ourselves to make something happen during November? The rut can be one of the most exciting times to hunt whitetails, but it can also be one of the most frustrating. Sometimes the biggest mistake isn't what we're doing in the woods, but what we expect to happen. We're talking about deer movement, hunting pressure, doe behavior, and why some of the most common rut-hunting advice might be holding hunters back. Maybe the rut isn't as complicated as we've made it. Maybe we're just looking at it all wrong. Let us know in the comments: What's one thing you think most deer hunters get wrong about the rut?
