How to Choose the Right College and Career Path with Laurie Genevish

Send us Fan Mail What if we've been approaching college all wrong? For years, students have been encouraged to choose a college, select a major, and figure out their careers along the way. But what if the smarter approach is to start with the career and work backward? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn welcomes Laurie Genevish, founder of My Ideal College, for a conversation about helping teens find direction, supporting parents through important education decisions, and giving entrepreneurs the tools to build stronger businesses. Laurie knows firsthand what it feels like to graduate from college without knowing what comes next. After changing her own major and exploring different career paths, she realized how much easier those decisions could be with the right guidance. Her experience in corporate learning and development eventually led her to create My Ideal College, a program that helps teens explore career options based on their interests and behavioral preferences. Rather than starting with a college or major, Laurie encourages families to begin with the career. From there, they can identify the education, internships, and experiences that make sense. But Laurie's entrepreneurial journey doesn't stop there. She also created the Hive Deck, a hands-on tool that helps entrepreneurs assess their businesses, recognize blind spots, and identify the next steps they need to take. Whether you're a parent helping your teen plan for the future or an entrepreneur looking for more structure, this conversation is full of practical insights. In this episode, you'll discover: Why career planning should come before choosing a college. How changing majors can affect a family's time and finances. Why a student's strengths and preferences matter when exploring careers. How parents can help teens take ownership of their futures. Why college isn't the only path to a successful career. How Laurie transitioned from corporate learning to entrepreneurship. Why testing an idea through workshops can help validate a business. What the Hive Deck reveals about your business. How entrepreneurs can identify blind spots in marketing, operations, sales, and leadership. Why taking time to recognize your progress is just as important as identifying what's next. Laurie's message is a powerful one: get clear about where you want to go before deciding how to get there. And whether you're helping a teen choose a career or building your own business, the right questions can make all the difference. How to Build a Successful Digital Marketing Business with Marrisa Roper

Send us Fan Mail What if the thing that makes you different is exactly what will help you succeed? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn sits down with Marrisa Roper, founder of M Riley Marketing, to talk about building a business on your own terms, overcoming self-doubt, and learning to trust yourself when the path gets uncomfortable. Marrisa started her career in corporate marketing before discovering that the traditional work environment wasn't the right fit. After gaining experience at digital marketing agencies, she began building her own business around the work she loved, especially event marketing and personalized client service. But entrepreneurship hasn't been a straight line. When a major client representing a significant portion of her revenue pulled back, Marrisa faced one of her toughest moments. Instead of allowing that setback to define her, she began changing how she viewed challenges, investing in her growth, and surrounding herself with people who inspired her to think bigger. Today, Marrisa leads a boutique digital marketing agency focused on customized strategies and personal attention. Her story is a reminder that you don't need to follow someone else's path to build something meaningful. In this episode, you'll discover: Why not fitting the corporate mold can be a strength. What it really takes to make the leap into entrepreneurship. How losing a major client can become a turning point. Ways to quiet self-doubt and stop comparing your journey. Why investing in yourself can change your perspective. How the right community can help you grow. Why not every thought deserves your attention. The value of personalized marketing over cookie-cutter solutions. How to keep moving forward when business gets difficult. One of Marrisa's most powerful reminders is that just because you don't fit a particular space doesn't mean you're not worthy of finding one where you do. If you're building a business, navigating a career change, or questioning whether you're on the right path, this conversation is an invitation to trust yourself, learn from the hard moments, and keep going. AI Should Sound Like YOU

Send us Fan Mail What if AI could give you something more valuable than content? Time. In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn sits down with Kristina Valenzuela, an entrepreneur and AI consultant, to talk about how business owners can use AI to save time, streamline repetitive work, strengthen their systems, and still sound like themselves. Kristina's journey is anything but linear. She started in interior design, moved into software, earned a master's degree in Global Business Management, worked on software implementations across hotel companies, and eventually stepped away from corporate life to return to entrepreneurship. Then she found AI. What caught her attention wasn't simply what AI could produce. It was how AI could be implemented into the way people actually work. That became the foundation for her business. Kristina's approach is simple: don't expect AI to understand your business if you haven't taken the time to teach it. Your documents. Your experience. Your language. Your preferences. Your customers. Your way of working. The more context you give it, the more useful it can become. And that's where this conversation gets especially interesting. Because AI isn't only about marketing. Kristina shares examples of using AI for: Saving time on emails and repetitive tasks Creating business documentation Training AI on your expertise Building personalized business agents Automating follow-up sequences Supporting sales teams Reviewing sales calls Creating proposals Connecting AI with existing business systems Giving employees more time for strategy and creativity Avoiding generic "AI slop" Preserving your personality and voice One of the biggest takeaways is that AI doesn't have to make your business less personal. When implemented thoughtfully, it can actually give you more time to do the things that require a human being: creativity, strategic thinking, relationships, leadership, and connection. Kristina also shares why entrepreneurs should stop waiting until they feel like an AI expert before getting started. The technology is changing constantly, so the goal isn't to master one tool forever. It's to understand how to build a foundation that can evolve with the technology. And perhaps the most important lesson? Don't let AI make you sound like everyone else. Your expertise and personality are still the differentiators. In this episode, you'll discover: Why Kristina left corporate life How her background in interior design shaped the way she sees technology Why she believes entrepreneurs need to start using AI How AI can create more time instead of simply creating more content Why training your AI matters What information you should give your AI How to build a business knowledge database How to use AI safely with business communications Ways AI can support sales and follow-up How AI can help teams spend more time on creative work What "AI slop" is and why it matters How to make AI sound more like you Why your personality belongs inside your AI systems How entrepreneurs can begin using AI without becoming overwhelmed If you've been curious about AI but keep thinking, "I don't have time to learn another thing," this conversation is for you. And if you're already using AI, Kristina may give you a completely different way to think about how you train it. What If Working Harder Isn’t the Answer? | Ketamine & High Performance

Send us Fan Mail What happens when a high performer reaches a point where working harder is no longer working? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn sits down with Bronwyn Davis, executive coach, entrepreneur, and founder of Conscious Ketamine, for a conversation that goes far beyond the surface-level conversation around ketamine. Bronwyn spent more than 25 years coaching high-level executives and has completed thousands of coaching sessions. But after navigating an intense season that included COVID, identity theft, sleepless nights, long COVID, and a skin cancer diagnosis, she reached a moment when she could not simply coach her way through what was happening. She couldn't even get out of bed. That moment ultimately led her to explore therapeutic ketamine, conduct extensive research, and experience a new perspective that changed the direction of her work. Today, Bronwyn combines her background in high-performance coaching with a future-focused approach to ketamine preparation and integration. Her philosophy is not about simply taking ketamine. She emphasizes the inner work, preparation, integration, and roadmap that surround the experience. As Bronwyn explains it, her 10/90 rule means the medicine is only a small part of the process. The preparation and integration are where much of the work happens. In this episode, we explore: Why high performers can still hit a wall What led Bronwyn from executive coaching into ketamine work Her experience with identity theft and the fear that followed How long COVID and a cancer diagnosis compounded an already difficult season Why conventional talk therapy did not give her the breakthrough she needed What she discovered through her own therapeutic ketamine experience Why she describes the experience as deeply internal rather than simply "disconnecting" The difference between looking backward and becoming future-focused How coaching and ketamine can be integrated within Bronwyn's framework Why self-doubt can return even after significant success The importance of preparation and integration What Bronwyn means by the "10/90 rule" Why Conscious Ketamine is built around consciousness and inner work How she is training other coaches and wellness practitioners The powerful shift from knowing something intellectually to embodying it This conversation is not medical advice, and neither Veronica nor Bronwyn is presenting ketamine as a prescription or guaranteed solution. The episode is intended to bring awareness to a resource and encourage listeners to do their own research and consult appropriate medical professionals. If you've accomplished a lot but still feel stuck, if self-doubt has started creeping back in, or if you know there is another level of your life and leadership waiting for you, this conversation may give you a new perspective to explore. When Everything Falls Apart, Keep Going

Send us Fan Mail What do you do when the career you built disappears, the safety net is gone, and you have no idea what comes next? For Jane Kassel, the answer was simple, but not easy: Keep going. On this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica sits down with Jane Kassel of Kassel Benefits LLC for a conversation that begins with health insurance for entrepreneurs and evolves into a powerful story of resilience, faith, reinvention, and hope. Jane's career journey has taken many turns. She began working in vision care straight out of high school, built a long career in the industry, experienced multiple layoffs, became a single parent, and eventually decided she needed to create something no one could take away from her. But entrepreneurship didn't make life easier overnight. Jane shares the very real story of financial hardship, foreclosure, living in someone else's home, having her belongings in storage, and totaling her car at one of the lowest points in her life. Then came a phone call, a new opportunity, and a breakthrough. Within days of making her first sale, Jane began building a business that would eventually allow her to pay off debt, save $80,000, purchase a home, and become a top producer. But the most powerful part of her story isn't the money. It's what she learned along the way. Jane talks about why relationships matter more than being salesy, how networking helped her grow, why community is essential, and why you should never be afraid to try something new when you're in a changing market. She also shares practical insight into health insurance options for entrepreneurs, people considering leaving corporate employment, and those approaching early retirement. And then the conversation goes deeper. Jane talks about faith, surrender, the people who showed up at exactly the right time, and the importance of telling your true story instead of pretending everything is okay. Her message to women who are struggling is one every entrepreneur needs to hear: You can't quit on yourself. Sometimes you don't need to give up. Sometimes you just need a different vehicle. In this episode: Jane's unexpected path into entrepreneurship What multiple layoffs taught her about resilience Why she decided to become self-employed Health insurance considerations for entrepreneurs Options beyond traditional marketplace plans Why some women stay in corporate jobs for the benefits How Jane built a referral-based business Why relationships come before selling What foreclosure and financial hardship taught her The moment that changed everything The "ruby slippers" lesson How faith carried her through uncertainty Why community matters when you're struggling Why you should never quit on yourself The importance of sharing your authentic story Why you don't have to go through hard seasons alone If you're an entrepreneur who has ever wondered whether there is another way forward, this conversation is for you. GO BACK TO YOUR ROOTS

Send us Fan Mail What if the thing holding you back isn't a lack of ambition, knowledge, or opportunity? What if you've simply gotten too far away from your roots? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn sits down with Dr. Anna Laura for a powerful conversation about health, healing, purpose, entrepreneurship, and what happens when successful women finally give themselves permission to slow down. Dr. Anna Laura shares the deeply personal story that led her into naturopathic medicine. In her late 20s, she was an overachieving corporate professional working full time while going to school full time. After experiencing the loss of her brother to leukemia, she continued pushing forward while struggling with declining cognitive function, low physical energy, and what she later recognized as severe depression. After seeing approximately ten doctors without finding the answers she needed, she continued searching. Eventually, slowing down, changing her lifestyle, and listening more deeply became part of her healing journey. That journey eventually led her to naturopathic medicine and a completely different understanding of health: looking beyond the surface and exploring the underlying causes affecting the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person's life. But this conversation goes far beyond health. Veronica and Dr. Anna Laura explore what happens when women entrepreneurs put themselves last, carry guilt about resting, and allow the demands of business and family to take priority over their own wellbeing. Because when the person driving the business is depleted, the business feels it too. And then the conversation takes an unexpected turn. After attending a conference, Dr. Anna Laura realizes that she has been spending so much time being the expert in her field that she has not been fully stepping into her role as the CEO and face of her own company. She begins to recognize that she has been limiting her own growth. That leads to one of the most powerful moments of the episode: Go back to your roots. Her business is built around the idea of roots and treating root causes. Her original vision carries a powerful image of a wise woman people come to for knowledge and healing. And now she realizes she needs to reconnect with that vision. Because sometimes the next level isn't about becoming someone completely different. Sometimes it is about returning to the woman, the mission, and the vision you knew you were meant to build in the first place. In this episode: • Dr. Anna Laura's personal journey from corporate success to naturopathic medicine • What happened when conventional medicine didn't provide the answers she needed • Why slowing down became part of her healing • How grief can affect more than our emotions • Why women entrepreneurs need to make their health a priority • The connection between physical health, mental clarity, and purpose • Why it's never too late to start something new • The importance of conferences, community, and continuing education • The difference between being the expert and being the CEO • How successful women can unintentionally keep themselves small • Why your business can be treated like a living, breathing entity • What it means to return to your roots • How alignment can create clarity for your next level • Dr. Anna Laura's vision for reaching and educating more women and families If you've been feeling successful on the outside but depleted on the inside... If you've been questioning your direction... If you've been putting everyone else first... Or if you know your business is ready for another level but something inside you is holding you back... This conversation is for you. Your health matters. Your purpose matters. Your business matters. And so do you. What was the most impactful part of this conversation? What moved you into action? And where in your life or business do you need to go back to your roots? You Can Be Creative AND Strategic

Send us Fan Mail What if you could be both creative and strategic? What if you could lead with your heart and still measure what is actually working in your business? In this solo episode of Be Visible with Veronica, I share a surprising lesson behind receiving the 2026 Pacesetter Award as a Managing Director and Executive Managing Director with Women Network. The award was based on performance, numbers, and analytics. And that surprised me. Why? Because I have always led with creativity, spirituality, intuition, relationships, and heart. But looking back at the goals I had set for herself, I realized something powerful. I was already doing the work. I simply had to learn how to measure it. I share how being more specific about goals helped my track stages, podcasts, networking opportunities, guests, introductions, and other activities that create visibility. And I discovered that I didn't need to know exactly how everything would happen. I needed to know what I wanted to measure. This episode is a powerful reminder that being intuitive and being analytical are not opposites. You can be creative and strategic. You can lead from your heart and still look at the numbers. You can follow your intuition while building a business with intention. I also talk about one of the biggest challenges I see with high achieving women entrepreneurs: They aren't short on ideas. They're short on focus and perspective. When every new opportunity looks exciting, it is easy to chase the next shiny object, spread yourself too thin, and end up exhausted without actually moving forward. The answer isn't necessarily another idea. It may be focus. It may be perspective. And it may be having someone willing to tell you what you are not seeing. In this episode: • The unexpected lesson behind my Pacesetter Award • Why measurement changed the way I approached visibility • How to combine creativity with business strategy • Why you don't need to know the "how" before you begin • What entrepreneurs should actually be measuring • The power of proximity and being in the right rooms • Why successful entrepreneurs are often overwhelmed by too many ideas • How shiny objects can distract you from growth • Why focus and perspective are essential • What a growth and visibility strategist actually does • How to identify evidence of success • Why visibility is more than social media • The importance of walking the walk • Where the real growth edge lives • My challenge for entrepreneurs who want to become more visible Being visible doesn't mean posting more. It doesn't mean being everywhere. It means showing up with intention, building what you say you are building, and creating evidence that your message and mission are making an impact. So ask yourself: What are you measuring? What evidence do you have that your visibility is working? And most importantly: What are you doing today that is different from what you were doing yesterday? That is where growth begins. GRIEF AWAKENED ME

Send us Fan Mail What if grief could awaken something inside you that you never knew was there? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn welcomes back Joya Sosnowski, award-winning author, sound healer, minister, and creator of Grieving Awake, for an intimate conversation about grief, loss, awakening, and after-death communication. Joya returns to the show one year after her first appearance, following the devastating loss of her 18-year-old son, Weston. Since that first conversation, Joya has written her Amazon #1 Bestseller, Grieving Awake, and has continued exploring the profound experiences that followed Weston's death. But this episode is about much more than what happened after Weston died. It is about what happened inside Joya. She shares the experiences that challenged her understanding of life and death, the moments that made her question what was possible, and the journey that eventually led her to discover what she describes as the deepest, truest part of herself. Joya also challenges the way we think about grief. Grief is not limited to death. It can happen whenever life changes us profoundly. A marriage ends. A career disappears. A diagnosis changes everything. A home is lost. The life you knew suddenly becomes a different life. We are taught how to change our lives. But what happens when life changes us? That is the question at the heart of Joya's work and her book, Grieving Awake. In this episode: • Joya's journey through the loss of her son, Weston • The experiences that followed his death • Why she initially questioned her own experiences • How grief opened her to a deeper part of herself • The spark of light she discovered within • Learning to trust your own experience • Why grief should not be ignored or hidden • How to honor someone who has died • Why grief can happen even when nobody dies • What it means when life changes you • The importance of living in the present moment • Joya's powerful bubble metaphor for connection • How love and connection continue beyond what we can see • The mission behind Grieving Awake Joya's message is ultimately one of love. Grief changes us. It can break open the parts of ourselves we have spent years protecting. And sometimes, in the deepest darkness, we discover a light that was there all along. If you have experienced profound loss or a life-changing transition, this conversation may offer a different way to understand what you're going through. DRAW THE LINE

Send us Fan Mail What if the hardest things you've been through are not the end of your story? What if they are part of the reason you are here? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn welcomes Patsy James, health and wellness coach, entrepreneur, and speaker, for a powerful conversation about transformation, faith, resilience, and the decision to create a completely different life. Patsy's journey began with a life that was very different from the one she lives today. Raised in an environment where her choices were restricted, she eventually made a decision to change the direction of her life. Years later, after experiencing her own transformation with health and weight, she discovered that her personal journey could become something much bigger. Today, Patsy helps others create lasting change and has built a business around speaking truth, shifting habits, and sparking hope. But this conversation goes far beyond health and wellness. Patsy shares why she believes you are not defined by what you were handed in life, how she learned to trust herself, and why sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand and refuse to go back. The most powerful realization comes when Patsy looks back at the life she changed and says: "I did it for you." Her transformation was not only about herself. It became about the people she is now called to help. Stop Doing It Alone

Send us Fan Mail What if your next level doesn't require you to work harder? What if it requires you to stop doing everything alone? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn welcomes Celine Rasborn for a powerful conversation about entrepreneurship, leadership, self-trust, and the courage to create a new chapter. After more than three decades in corporate leadership, Celine knew she was ready for something different. Her entrepreneurial journey eventually led her to franchising, but the biggest transformation was not simply becoming a business owner. It was learning who she really was, understanding what she wanted her life to look like, and recognizing the importance of being surrounded by people who would support her, challenge her, and help her grow. Celine shares the mindset shifts that helped her move forward, including the importance of trusting yourself, knowing your worth, listening to feedback, and recognizing when you are out of balance. She also explains why she chose franchising instead of building everything from scratch and how having a proven system can give entrepreneurs the structure and support they need while still allowing them to bring their own strengths and personality to the business. One idea becomes especially powerful throughout the conversation: "Supported and surrounded." This episode is a reminder that you can trust yourself without doing everything yourself. In this episode: • How Celine transitioned from corporate leadership to entrepreneurship • Why declaring what you want can be the first step toward creating it • How to recognize when it is time to make a change • The leadership questions that helped Celine understand herself better • Why knowing your worth matters in business and in life • How women can embrace their strengths without losing themselves • Why feedback can be information instead of criticism • How to handle people who do not believe in your vision • Why Celine chose franchising • What to look for when considering a franchise • The power of having a proven system • Why being supported and surrounded can change everything • The bigger impact Celine hopes to create through her business If you are standing at the edge of your next chapter, this conversation is a reminder that you do not have to have every answer before you take the next step. Trust yourself. Find your people. And give yourself permission to be supported. If you're ready to become more visible, step into your next level, and create a life and business that truly reflects who you are, this conversation will inspire your next step. FEED YOUR SOUL

Send us Fan Mail What if self-care isn't the thing you're actually missing? In this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica Bahn sits down with entrepreneur and energy facilitator Erlinda Vo for a powerful conversation about the difference between self-care and something even deeper: soul care. After experiencing a life-changing personal awakening, Erlinda realized that checking off wellness routines wasn't creating the healing she truly needed. Looking good on the outside didn't restore what was happening within. That realization became the foundation of her mission to help others create spaces, habits, and daily practices that nourish the soul—not just the schedule. Together, Veronica and Erlinda explore how slowing down, becoming present, and creating intentional sanctuary can help women reconnect with themselves, rediscover joy, and show up more fully in every area of life. This conversation is a reminder that visibility doesn't begin with what the world sees. It begins with how deeply you reconnect with yourself. #BeVisibleWithVeronica #SoulCare #WomenEntrepreneurs #PersonalGrowth #SelfCare
