Episode 2: Jo's Porta-Poo-Panic & Chicken Giblets with Alexandra Haddow
The difficult second episode! Indie Queen of Comedy Alexandra Haddow joins Dan and Jo following an extremely traumatic week for Jo's phone and her immaculately manicured little digits. TW: LOADS OF POO. Alex reminisces - not exactly fondly - about her time on the Chicken Counter at a major supermarket serving both as the front of house 'bossman' and back of house giblet extractor... for £3.59 per hour. Then we talk ten hour shifts on checkouts that felt like a sort of water torture before moving onto an internship with a magazine where she wanted to smash some fancy baubles and her 'boss' was a fellow intern. Alex treats us to a very polite blast, putting her worst ever boss 'c*** Smurf' in her place in her signature 'apologetic bitch' style. Wearing her Indie crown with pride, she also tells us all about Indie Amnesty, her indie club night where it's a fiver in and we all pretend it's 2009 and have a bloody brilliant time and quite possibly coming home with Fresher's Flu. Then we hear all about her shiny new and brilliant podcast with comedy friend, Adam Flood 'Adam and Alex's Indie Supergroup' where they fangirl/boy over indie heartthrobs from the noughties to include members of Hard Fi, Hoosiers and Boy Kill Boy. Contains strong language throughout.
