Over the course of only 60 days, a newly qualified 22-year old nurse injected numerous babies and young children with lethal doses of insulin and potassium chloride, resulting in a number of unexplained collapses and leaving 4 children dead and many more traumatised or with other serious life-long injuries. Beverley Allitt was thankfully apprehended, but the children’s ward, Ward 4, of Grantham and Kesteven Hospital in Grantham, Lincolnshire would be forever left tarred by her acts.
