Brentford 3-0 Spurs: Three Hot Takes, One Argument | Collectively COYS

Brentford 3-0. Opening day. New manager, north of £200m spent this summer, and we were second best in every single area of that pitch. 3.96 xG to 0.47. Nobody is talking us into a good week. So here is how this works. Every Tuesday, Jonny from An Echo of Glory, Ben from We Are Tottenham TV and Billie from Last Word on Spurs each bring one hot take about Tottenham. One each. None of them has heard the other two before the cameras roll. Then they argue about it. This week all three have come out of the Brentford defeat, and none of them are the take you think they are going to be. One of them goes after a decision most fans have already accepted without questioning it. One of them says the damage was done weeks before a ball was kicked. And one of them is going to start a row in the comments, which is exactly the point. Everything else is on the table too. The two goals Kinsky will want back. Archie Gray captaining the side, the youngest to do it since Steve Perryman. Tonali skying one from 18 yards. Savinho agreed at £85m, Marmoush in the post, and whether any of it fixes what we watched on Saturday. Charlton in the cup, then Newcastle at home. It cannot look like that again. Tell us who won the argument in the comments. And bring your own hot take, the best ones get read out next week. Collectively COYS is the weekly Spurs show from An Echo of Glory, Last Word on Spurs and We Are Tottenham TV. Three channels, three takes, one panel, no agenda beyond arguing about our football club. BRENTFORD 3-0 SPURS | "We Are Not A Team...YET" An Echo of Glory LIVE!

Well. That was a way to start a season. Brentford 3-0 Spurs. Lewis-Potter after twelve minutes, Janelt on thirty three, Kayode four minutes into the second half and if Thiago puts his penalty on target it is four. We did not win a duel, we did not win a second ball, and by the time Bentancur came on at half time the game had already gone. Over £200m spent on six players and we turned up at the Gtech looking like eleven blokes who met in the tunnel. Four new faces in the back four. Tonali and B

PRE-SEASON PREVIEW | Savinho Latest, Team News, Brentford | LIVE

We're back. The team are live for the first show since the summer break, and there is a genuinely absurd amount to get through. Six in, ten out. Sandro Tonali arrived as a club record signing, Mateus Fernandes came in from West Ham, and Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka all walked through the door. Cristian Romero went the other way to Atletico Madrid. That is not a tidy-up, that is a full squad overhaul, and it is fair to ask whether De Zerbi has actually been backed the way he wanted. Because there is still no forward. Savinho is the name that will not go away, Cody Gakpo has been talked about all week, and the window shuts on 1 September. We will get into where all of that actually stands tonight, and what happens if neither of them lands. Then there is Saturday. Brentford away at the Gtech, 5.30pm, first game of 26/27. Van de Ven and Udogie have not kicked a ball in pre-season, Solanke is a doubt, Kudus and Kulusevski are still working their way back, and Maddison has had one run out. So who actually starts? Get involved. Phone lines are open all show and we want to hear where you think this season is heading after two seventeenth place finishes. Drop your predicted XI in the chat, tell us what you make of the summer business, and give us your points prediction for the season. Like, subscribe and hit the bell so you never miss a live one. We're LIVE at 12pm on the eve of England v Argentina, a World Cup semi final with Spurs written all over it. SPURS GO BIG... £200m Spent - EMERGENCY TRANSFER UPDATE SHOW!

Well... it's actually happening. After two seasons of scrapping around 17th and being told the money would never come, Spurs have gone and spent north of £200m in one window. Never again, they said. Turns out they meant it. Today we're running through the lot. Sandro Tonali is in London for his medical as we speak, a club-record £100m deal from Newcastle, £92.5m up front with £7.5m in add-ons, and a six-year contract waiting for him. That's a proper statement signing and De Zerbi is the reason h

Adam and Jake are back in the studio for a proper catch up, and there's plenty to chew over. The summer window is flying and De Zerbi's rebuild is already taking shape.Top of the pile: Sandro Tonali. R eports say we've struck a total agreement with the player on a six-year deal, and now it's down to Spurs and Newcastle to settle on a fee that could smash our transfer record. Is he the midfielder who finally sorts our engine room, or are we about to pay way over the odds for him? The lads get

Van Hecke To Spurs! Is Tottenham's Defence Now COMPLETE? | Senesi, Robertson & The Savinho Race

Adam and Jake are in to make sense of a mad few days for THFC, because the defence we have been crying out for is suddenly being built right in front of us. Van Hecke is the big one. Spurs have agreed a deal with Brighton worth around £52m, and he is exactly the ball-playing centre-half De Zerbi has been asking for. Pair him with Marcos Senesi, in for nothing from Bournemouth, and you have two of the best progressive defenders in the league in the same back line. Add Andy Robertson at left-back and the spine looks completely different to the one that limped through last season. So we are asking the obvious one. Is this defence actually finished, or is there another piece to come? That brings us to the Vuskovic question. The lad looks like a proper player, but with Van Hecke and Senesi in, and Van de Ven and Romero still here, where does he fit? We get into whether he goes out again, whether he should, and what Romero's future actually looks like in a side built around defenders who play out from the back. We also get into the forwards and the wingers, because a tidy defence means nothing if we cannot hurt teams at the other end. Savinho is the name everyone is talking about and the noises out of the club are getting louder. We talk through whether he is the right fit, what De Zerbi's attack is supposed to look like, and who else needs to walk through the door before this window is done. And we could not start without the World Cup. England got off the mark with a 4-2 win over Croatia, Harry Kane with two, Bellingham and Rashford on the scoresheet. We give you our take on how Tuchel's lot looked and what it means heading into Ghana next. Get involved. Tell us in the comments whether you think the defence is done, and who you want next. We Only Need A Point... At Stamford Bridge! - Chelsea vs Spurs Preview

A draw at Stamford Bridge and we're safe. That's where we are. After West Ham went down 3-1 at Newcastle on Sunday with Osula bagging a brace and Woltemade opening the scoring, Spurs now have a clear path to Premier League survival on Tuesday night. One point at Chelsea and the maths is done. Even a defeat keeps it in our hands going into the final day given the 13 goal cushion in goal difference. It's not the season any of us wanted. It's not the season any Spurs fan thought possible. But her

Tel's Moment of Magic, Tel's Moment of Madness | Spurs 1-1 Leeds Reaction

So we're not out of it. We're not in it either. Spurs 1-1 Leeds at home, another night that started with hope and ended with that same nervy feeling that's followed this team around all season. Mathys Tel gave us a goal worth the ticket price. A proper curler from the edge of the box, his fourth of the season, the kind of finish you actually remember. Then a few minutes later he flings a leg at a clearance, catches Ampadu in the face, and Calvert-Lewin levels from the spot. Two contrasting moments that pretty much sum up his year in N17. But the moment everyone will be talking about is James Maddison stepping back on a Premier League pitch for the first time in 368 days. Standing ovation. Twenty minutes including stoppage time. Sharp from the off, nearly won us a late penalty, looked like the player we've been missing all year. Whatever you think of where Spurs are right now, that moment lifted the roof. The bad news? One win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since December. Two points clear of West Ham with two games to play. Chelsea away on Tuesday. Everton at home on the final day. We're still above the line, but only just, and if West Ham win at Newcastle on Sunday we could be back in the bottom three before we even kick a ball at Stamford Bridge. De Zerbi wasn't happy with the officials. Kinsky was brilliant again. The fight goes on. Pull up a chair, get the kettle on. Full reaction, every angle, and the survival picture as it stands. TOTTENHAM AWAY OLE OLE - Out of the Relegation Zone!

Spurs went to Villa Park and got the job done. Conor Gallagher and Richarlison on the scoresheet, a second straight away win after Wolves, and just like that we're out of the relegation zone with three games to play. Strange times being a Tottenham fan. Stranger still, we're going to be sat watching Arsenal vs West Ham on Sunday afternoon hoping the Gunners do us a favour. With Manchester City drawing 3-3 at Everton last night (Doku rescuing them deep into stoppage time), a win for Arsenal at the London Stadium would almost certainly hand them the title. Try wrapping your head around that one. We'd take it. Three points for them keeps West Ham in serious trouble and pushes us closer to safety. Then it's Leeds at home on Monday night under the lights. They've quietly gone unbeaten in six, smashed Burnley 3-1 at the weekend, and they'll travel down to N17 fancying their chances of mathematically confirming their own Premier League status. We've still got the joint-worst home record in the league. That has to change. Win on Monday and the worst is behind us. Slip up, and we drag this thing all the way to the final day. Jonny, Ollie and Jake break down the Villa win, dig into where De Zerbi is starting to click, talk through the Arsenal vs West Ham scenarios, and preview a Leeds side nobody is taking lightly. RELEGATION OR REDEMPTION? | Spurs Head to Villa Park

Two points off safety. Four games left. A trip to Villa Park on Sunday. Spurs are still bang in trouble, but for the first time in months, there's a tiny bit of hope in the air. That 1-0 at Wolves was ugly, late, and absolutely huge. Joao Palhinha's 82nd-minute winner ended a 15-game winless run in the league and, more importantly, kept us alive going into the final four. Now the question is whether Roberto De Zerbi's side can actually back it up. Aston Villa won't be easy. They sit 5th, fight

The new era started at Sunderland on Sunday, and it started with a defeat. Same Old Spurs

Sunderland 1, Tottenham 0. Roberto De Zerbi's first game in charge ends in defeat at the Stadium of Light, and we are still stuck in the relegation zone with six games to go. Two points from safety. The unthinkable is no longer unthinkable. Nordi Mukiele's deflected effort off Micky Van de Ven was the difference. A penalty overturned by VAR. Cristian Romero leaving the pitch in tears. Pedro Porro denied by Robin Roefs deep into added time. Another afternoon where Spurs huffed and puffed and came away with nothing. So we're live tonight to pick through the wreckage. New manager, same story? Or is there something to build on here? Where does De Zerbi go from here with Brighton up next at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? Are we genuinely going down? We want to hear from you. The phone lines are open tonight on 0800 229 4492. La Risurrezione. Time to rise again. Come on you Spurs.

The international break is over and it is time to talk Tottenham. On today's show the lads are looking ahead to Sunderland away on Sunday, the first Premier League test since that painful afternoon at Old Trafford where Romero's early red card set the tone for a long day at the office. Two weeks away from it all should have done the squad a bit of good. Thomas Frank has had time on the training pitch, the internationals are filtering back in, and Spurs now face a Sunderland side at the Stadium of Light who will fancy their chances against a Tottenham team that has looked anything but settled. Trip up there and the mood gets darker. Win well and suddenly the run-in starts to feel a lot more interesting. Jonny, Ollie and Jake break down what needs to change after the United result, who should come back into the side, how Frank sets up away from home, and whether this is the week we finally see a response. Plus the usual chat on team news, injury updates, and what a good afternoon on Wearside looks like. La Risurrezione. Time to rise again. Come on you Spurs.
