Beauty of Holiness Conference: "Christ Died For People, Not Institutions" | Keith Boyette
Beauty of Holiness Conference: "Christ Died For People, Not Institutions" | Keith Boyette While at the Beauty of Holiness Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jason Nix sits down with Rev. Keith Boyette for an update on retirement and what he calls “redeployment.” Keith reflects on how God used him to help launch the Global Methodist Church and how he recognized when it was time to lay that responsibility down. Keith shares how age, health, and the denomination’s transition into a new season shaped his decision. He discusses the difference between helping establish a movement and leading its ongoing operations, the importance of making room for new leaders, and the challenges that arise when former leaders struggle to release control. Together, Jason and Keith explore how God continues to work through people beyond what they imagined and why stepping aside can open the door to new opportunities to serve. At the heart of the conversation is a reminder that Christ died for people, not institutions, and that the church’s mission must keep people at its center. Behind the Scenes: Rhonda Bourgeois and the Systems That Built the GMC
Rhonda Bourgeois may prefer serving behind the scenes, but her impact on the Global Methodist Church reaches around the world. In this episode of Across the Globe, Rhonda joins Mike Schafer to share how God used her professional experience, faithfulness, and willingness to serve to help build many of the systems supporting the GMC. From clergy applications and the Atlas database to delegate management, petitions, registration, volunteers, travel, and the Convening General Conference, Rhonda’s work has helped bring structure to a rapidly growing global movement. She also reflects on learning to release control, recognizing God’s hand in the process, and creating opportunities for people with less traditional gifts to find meaningful places of service. Beauty of Holiness Conference: Serving God Without the Materials | Rev. Kabah Mwenze
Beauty of Holiness Conference: Serving God Without the Materials | Rev. Kabah Mwenze Jason Nix sits down with Rev. Kabah Kasongo Mwenze, a clergy leader from the Democratic Republic of Congo, for a powerful conversation about the rapid growth of the Global Methodist Church across Africa. Kabah shares his story of ministry in the DRC, where he serves the local church and assists episcopal leadership while also serving as a member of the Global Methodist Church’s Kingdom Advancement Commission. He describes the remarkable faith of congregations that left their previous denomination and began again with very little, gathering as new churches in homes, schools, and even under trees. Without many of the buildings, equipment, and resources churches elsewhere may take for granted, these communities continue to worship, make disciples, plant churches, and experience tremendous growth. Kabah shares how he has witnessed God’s love and mercy through it all and what the growing Methodist movement in Africa can teach the global church about faith, sacrifice, and dependence on God. It’s an encouraging picture of a church growing rapidly and serving God faithfully, even without the materials and resources many consider essential.
