A Year In Horror

A Year In Horror

Your host Paul Waller (not Weller) is a horror movie addict. During 2020 the workload for his band and music management job slowed right down.
At this same time he discovered the movie social networking platform LETTERBOXD. Armed with this database he decided to fill in the gaps of his horror film knowledge. Within week one he was averaging 3 a day.
This podcast is the result of that horror compulsion - A YEAR IN HORROR

Wake In Fright (1971) w/ Grandaddy

Welcome to the show Jason Lytle from Grandaddy who even though isnt a horror fanatic has chosen a film with one of the most horrific scenes in it ever filmed, to my mind. Ted Kotcheff's Wake In Fright. Australia is huge, you can get lost, both physically and mentally.

    2012 (Part 3)

It's time for one of those huge episodes. Well, it's a three parter anyways. 2012 was for me, a little bit of a slacker for horror movies, some would say that not enough time has elapsed to make this assessment, I say, shnozwaddle! The highs are really high & the lows can be quite messy. But, what do I think was the very greatest horror movie that came out during 2012? Well, here we have the top 10. The worst 10. A slew of also rans. Some awesome mates. Some special guests. Several pints of beer

    Video Nasties (Part 8)

It's another big hitter episode but not as we know it. Over the past year I have been putting this show together, knowing that time will be short for me come spooky season. So I compiled my favourite parts from the video nasty series of the top tier, successfully prosecuted films over on Patreon and have put them in order of my least favourite to the movie that I think is the best. All the nasties with a total of 19 guests, a silly amount of booze and the filthiest 39 movies that you ever would

    Carrie (1976) w/ Mr. Bungle

Today we are joined by Californian composer, bass guitarist, and double bassist Trevor Dunn. He came to prominence in the 1990s with the experimental band Mr. Bungle and has more than likely appeared on 100+ recording since. I say more than likely because I personally own 13 albums he has played on and I have barely scratched the surface. Here to reveal a little more about the man's music and his love for Brian De Palmer's Carrie. Please welcome the dude himself to A Year In Horror.

Welcome, one and all to a rather special episode of the A Year In Horror mid month music specials where I chat with a musician about horror movies.
