mental health matters
September is suicide prevention month, and on this podcast, I'm a huge proponent of mental health, and as you'll hear in this episode, maybe I'm also a fan of rambling and rabbit trails that relate to the same central topics: - How mental health affects our patients/how we interact with them? - How mental health affects us as first responders. I also give some personal lore. Sorta. Biggest thing: you matter. Suicide is never the answer, and the pain you feel is matched with the idea of never getting closure and acceptance is left in your wake. Please, stay. Call 988 if you need help, or talk to your coworkers or employers who you trust. Talk to a professional, or talk to your friend. Talk to your pet. Don't hold it in, and please, get the help you need. There's no shame in saying, "I'm not strong enough to do this by myself," and if anything, it shows strength to be able to reach out. Take care of yourselves, look out for each other, and drink some water. Send us Fan Mail
