2 Guys 3 Pours Bourbon Podcast

2 Guys 3 Pours

2 Guys 3 Pours is That Bourbon Podcast. A show built around a simple idea: two guys, three pours, and honest opinions.

Each week, we sit down with three whiskeys and put them to the test, breaking down the nose, palate, finish, and value before giving each pour our final score. We also put our palates to the test with blind whiskey tastings, comparing bottles without labels, hype, or price tags influencing the results. Our Distillery Review series takes a deeper look at a distillery by tasting several of its whiskeys.

Whether you're a longtime bourbon enthusiast, whiskey collector, or just starting to explore the world of whiskey, 2 Guys 3 Pours delivers approachable bourbon reviews, honest tasting notes, blind comparisons, distillery deep dives, and plenty of conversation along the way.

Redwood Empire Review: The Hyperion, Pipe Dream 101 & Grizzly Beast | Big Tree Energy

Charlie and Sean review three whiskeys from California’s Redwood Empire: Pipe Dream 101 Proof Bourbon, Grizzly Beast Bottled-in-Bond Straight Bourbon (Batch 3), and The Hyperion Blend of Straight Whiskeys (Batch 001). Redwood Empire Pipe Dream 101 Proof Bourbon A 101-proof, four-grain bourbon blending whiskeys aged 5 to 15 years. It brings marshmallow, vanilla chai, graham cracker, and a ginger-snap finish. “Like a s’mores without the chocolate.” Redwood Empire Grizzly Beast Bottled-in-Bond, Batch 3 A 100-proof, bottled-in-bond straight bourbon distilled entirely by Redwood Empire in California. It brings strawberry, rhubarb, peach, and a cherry-cola finish. “It’s very crushable.” Redwood Empire The Hyperion, Batch 001 A 110-proof blend of bourbon, rye, wheat whiskey, and American single malt aged 7 to 14 years, limited to 12,000 bottles and named for the world’s tallest known tree. It brings walnut, dried apricot, pralines, and a long almond-biscotti finish. “I would absolutely buy next year’s Hyperion.” Plus, Pipe Dream 101 vs. Wild Turkey 101, Grizzly Beast vs. E.H. Taylor Small Batch, The Hyperion vs. Bardstown Bourbon Company’s 2026 Discovery, and the bottle that made Charlie a Redwood Empire fan. Filmland Moonlight Mayhem! 2 Review: Halloween Costume Whiskey

Charlie and Sean review three Halloween costume whiskeys for 2026: Filmland Spirits Moonlight Mayhem! 2 The White Port Wolf, Blood Oath Pact No. 10, and Dark Arts Straight Bourbon Finished with Toasted Mizunara Oak Staves. What is Halloween Costume Whiskey? It is a bottle you buy for the label: a werewolf, a vampire, an alchemist, etc. We judge the spooky packaging, then taste the bourbon underneath. Which one is all costume, and which one is the real deal? Filmland Spirits Moonlight Mayhem! 2 The White Port Wolf A 7-year, 94-proof straight bourbon finished in white port casks. It tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, with golden raisin notes, and a lingering hazelnut finish. The QR code on the label unlocks a full movie poster, script, and trailer, making it our trick-or-treat flask pick. Blood Oath Pact No. 10 A 98.6-proof Kentucky straight bourbon from Lux Row, double-finished in Cabernet Franc and Merlot casks. It brings fruit-punch berries and white pepper. “You’re getting complexity from the finish, not the bourbon.” Dark Arts Toasted Mizunara A 100-proof Kentucky straight bourbon finished with toasted Japanese Mizunara oak staves. It opens with grape and butterscotch, then turns to gingerbread and brown sugar. “Looks like a Halloween whiskey. Kind of tastes like a Christmas whiskey.” Plus, whether finished whiskey hides bad bourbon and why lower-proof finished bourbons make a good gateway for new drinkers.
