    Caleb Flynn Volunteered THIS to Detectives Searching for His Wife’s Killer

    Caleb Flynn spent six days of his aggravated murder trial without showing emotion. He sat through Alleigha Botner’s testimony about 107,000 text messages, alleged meetups at a storage unit, and AI-generated love songs prosecutors say he created using her voice. None of it moved him. On Day 7, the jury watched two police interrogation videos recorded on February 16, 2026, hours after Ashley Flynn was found with two gunshot wounds to the back of her head. When the courtroom screen played those interviews, Caleb Flynn cried. The questioning started at 4:28 in the morning. Detective Mike Morgan asked to see Flynn’s text messages with Ashley. The phone had none. Flynn said he deleted them because her photos took up storage. The same phone allegedly held every message he’d exchanged with Botner. Morgan asked about enemies. Flynn said the family had none — they stuck to themselves, went to church. FBI Special Agent Kinzig had testified that a murder-for-hire tip allegedly pointed at Flynn during the investigation. Flynn offered an intruder theory and pointed to a side door in the garage. Testimony established that the damage to that door was allegedly visible only from the inside. His own theory allegedly didn’t match the physical evidence. Flynn said he fell asleep by 11:30 p.m. Prosecutors presented Apple Watch data showing Ashley’s watch allegedly recorded activity between approximately 1:19 a.m. and 2:28 a.m. Flynn called 911 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Then Flynn volunteered something nobody asked about — a handgun in his truck. The weapon that allegedly killed Ashley has never been recovered. Flynn couldn’t describe the gun he admits he owned. Before anyone accused him, Flynn told Morgan it felt like they were pointing at him. He denied laying a hand on Ashley. Nobody in the room had suggested he had.     Caleb Flynn Trial Day 7: Mike Morgan Says Police Never Tested WHAT?

    Cross-examination of Det. Sgt. Mike Morgan turned from what Tipp City police investigated in Ashley Flynn’s murder to what they didn’t. The defense pressed Morgan about moments where the interview video appeared not to line up with its audio. Then the questions moved to physical evidence. Morgan testified that investigators found no evidence of blood on Caleb Flynn’s clothing or in the sinks of the home. Caleb also was never tested for gunshot residue. Asked why, Morgan said investigators didn’t want to rush to judgment and take Caleb into custody at that point. But Morgan also testified that because Caleb said he entered the room within four to six seconds of hearing the shots, he believed gunshot residue would have been somewhere on Caleb’s body. No gunshot-residue tests were taken in the case. The defense also questioned investigative ground that Morgan acknowledged wasn’t covered. Police did not examine FLOCK camera data in the neighborhood or around Pastor Jordan’s house, and investigators did not search the fields behind Jordan’s home. Defense counsel also raised the use of cold-case units by many police departments. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege he killed Ashley and staged a home invasion. The defense says the home invasion was real and investigators focused on Caleb too quickly. Cross-examination is now putting that defense theory directly against the investigative choices police made. No gunshot-residue testing was ever done. Morgan also testified that there was no evidence of blood on Caleb’s clothing or in the home’s sinks. Defense counsel challenged portions of the recorded interview where the video appeared not to match the audio and then questioned Morgan about other investigative avenues. According to Morgan’s testimony, investigators did not examine FLOCK cameras in the neighborhood or around Pastor Jordan’s home. They did not search the fields behind Jordan’s house either. Defense counsel also brought up cold-case units operated by many law-enforcement agencies. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty in the killing of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege he staged a burglary after killing her. His defense argues investigators settled on Caleb too quickly. Morgan’s cross-examination put specific investigative decisions behind that defense argument instead of leaving it as a general accusation.
