Chloe Jane is the ice skating disco pop princess you need on your radar. Raised between New York and Ibiza by a saxophonist mom, she saw Avicii at Ushuaïa at 11 and was spotted online by Paris Hilton as a kid DJ. That led to launching teen glow parties at Amnesia, and later to an hour-long set in Martin Garrix's green room. At 13, she released her first single, "Superstar," a vault song co-written by Meghan Trainor.
In this POP 101 interview, the New York singer, songwriter, and DJ takes us inside “Dance Floor Emergency” and her hunt for a real ambulance for the video. She also talks about writing "Iconic" in twenty minutes at a Swiss songwriting camp and channeling the Pussycat Dolls on "Shut Up." Then comes "Sleepless Nights," which traveled from her piano to a Nashville string session, and finally to a frozen Canadian lake in sub-zero temperatures for a figure skating music video. Plus "Middle Man," and "Feel the Love" with Mom back on saxophone.
And what's next: a full disco pivot inspired by Studio 54 and a trip to Sweden to chase the sound of Alcazar and Nile Rodgers.
