Ravensbrück was the only major Nazi concentration camp for women, located just miles north of Berlin, it was close enough to hand, but far enough to avoid too many questions. A place of brutality, where women were used as forced labour for Siemens and Heinkel, to build rockets and luftwaffe machinery.
