Never Go Full Hitchens

Peter Hitchens really hates being called Denethor, but offers nothing more to the young men and women of Britain than prognoses of despair while prescribing solutions. He urges them to flee their homeland rather than deport the unwanted, expensive, and criminal immigrants, making it a miserable place. Hitchens is an ideological liberal. He insists we see everyone as “one race, the human race”, even when new arrivals don't and won't behave that way. Talk of mass deportations brings to his mind the spectres of the twentieth century. If you want to live in the same country he grew up in, he will call you a fascist. That's because, in the pitifully reductive post-War Boomer mindset, having a country is indistinguishable from being Hitler. Noticing differences between groups is the first goose-step toward gas chambers. To prove you aren't a Nazi, you must signal your antiracist credentials. This is why patriotic Zoomers have an allergic reaction to their elders praising immigrants as exemplars of integration, or insisting anyone can become British. For Boomers, they think they're being courteous and commending imitation as the highest form of flattery. For Gen Z, it sounds like you're indifferent to or encouraging their substitution, as they shrink into minorities in their own country.
