Ghostbusters 2

Episode 307 of Tom Clark's 6M Podcast is a look at Ghostbusters II, the 1989 sequel that brought the Ghostbusters back five years after their first battle with Gozer. Tom Clark and Phil Lindsey break down the return of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore as the team tries to rebuild its reputation after being pushed out of the ghostbusting business. They discuss Dana Barrett's return, her baby Oscar, the mysterious river of slime beneath New York City, and the arrival of Vigo the Carpathian. They also get into the movie's biggest moments, from the courtroom showdown with the Scoleri Brothers and the Statue of Liberty sequence to Slimer's expanded role, Rick Moranis' memorable performance as Louis Tully, and the movie's mix of supernatural comedy and family-friendly humor. Did Ghostbusters II deserve its reputation as a disappointing sequel, or has the movie aged into an underrated follow-up to the original? Tom and Phil dive into that and a lot more!
