    The Bear, Season 5, Episodes 4 - 6

Dinner service is here, and we’ve got nothing to lose. Remember that time we saw a turtle and a cat sharing a pop in the back booth? This week, Andrea and Jodie are talking about episodes four through six of the final season of The Bear: Carmy makes the rounds, Richie makes some calls, Sydney tries to hold it all together, Marcus and Luca’s honeymoon phase might be over, and we find out what happens when a seemingly unprepared restaurant decides to welcome absolutely everybody inside anyway. The Bear, Season 5, Episodes 1 - 3

The Bear is back, and it feels like hardly any time has passed. (Because hardly any time has passed.) This week, Andrea and Jodie are talking through the first three episodes of the final season: the familiar reminder that if something can go wrong, it will; Carmy trying (and failing) to let go; Richie entering his maximization era; Marcus and Luca’s whole…vibe; Ebra being generally the best, and why, if you ask us, the Faks remain crucial to The Bear family ecosystem. Plus, pipes, spoons, vampires, and Cheese. We’ll be back next week to talk about episodes 4 - 6. The Watchers Watch The Bear: A Series Recap / Reset

"And when I'm back in Chicago, I feel it." Wherein "it" refers to: the full-body haunting of home, the burden of being needed, the myth of control, and what it means to understand the difference between leaving and running. Before the final season of The Bear, we wanted to do a quick, non-exhaustive reset. Jodie and Andrea recap where everyone started, where season 4 left them, and what we’re expecting/hoping for in season 5. If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. It would be SO helpful if you gave our little show a follow. If you like what you hear, you could even leave us a review. Widow's Bay, "We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time"

It’s the end of tourist season on Widow’s Bay, so for now The Watchers are packing up, saying goodbye to our new island pals, and breaking down the season finale, “We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time!” We're talking Ruth’s whole deal, Tom’s variously questionable choices, Evan’s place in the Warren line, and a return to Andrea’s favorite segment, Hatch Watch. Plus, an important reminder: older women know everything. Next week, we’re heading back into the kitchen for the final season of The Bear and checking in on Carmy, Sydney, Richie, and the rest of our beautiful, stressed-out friends. If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. It would be SO helpful if you gave our little show a follow. Widow's Bay "Emergency Shelter"

This week, The Watchers are hunkering down for the penultimate episode of Widow’s Bay, "Emergency Shelter." Jodie and Andrea talk storm shelter, Rosemary’s tastefully titillating genealogy presentation, Tom’s wrestling match with the island's ancestry, Dale in doorways, and all the weird time stuff we’re tracking before the finale. Also: Nor’easters, shit-talking Martha’s Vineyard, and the new game that's sweeping the nation: “Dead Baby, Dead Baby Lesbian.” If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. Widow's Bay, "Your Baggage"

Widow's Bay gets the Haddonfield treatment (Jersey? Illinois? Yes.) as Jodie and Andrea review the show's slasher turn, "Your Baggage." We talk Wyck playing third wheel, Patricia becoming the Final Girl she was always meant to be, and the way a simple "GO SOX" is the key to any good New England boy’s heart. Widow's Bay, "Our History" & "Seasickness"

The Watchers are still happily docked at Widow’s Bay for Episodes 6 and 7, "Our History" and "Seasickness." Jodie and Andrea get into the island's haunted history, Puritan curses, Jaws references, and why the Glen Rock would absolutely destroy Plymouth Rock in a fight. Widow's Bay, "What to Expect on Your Trip"

The Watchers are back from their 12-hour trip, just in time for Widow’s Bay, Episode 5, “What to Expect on Your Trip.” Tom takes the island’s very special mushrooms, Patricia proves she is absolutely not the right trip sitter, Wyck and Jerri find a clue (a clue!), and Evan reminds us that this show is spiritually set in Jersey by engaging in some of our time-honored traditions. Hanging out in a car, ghost hunting, and daring each other to knock on the doors of homes that belong to potential psychopaths. Next week, we’re back with Episodes 6 and 7, “Our History" and "Seasickness" If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. Widow's Bay, "Beach Reads" (plus a recap of episodes 1 - 3)

This week, The Watchers take the ferry out to Widow’s Bay. We review Episodes 1 - 3. Some fog, a haunted inn, a sea hag, and the Stephen King and Weird NJ vibes baked deep into the DNA of Katie Dippold's outstanding new show. Then we recap Episode 4, “Beach Reads,” where the immediately beloved Patricia and a cursed book throw us a party we'll never forget. Wrapping The Pitt, "Gary" sidequest with The Bear, Heading to Widow's Bay

This week on The Watchers, Andrea and Jodie are scrubbing out of The Pitt Season 2. We tie up the season and review what we know about what to expect from Season 3 (which is, honestly, kind of a lot). Then we head back into the kitchen for The Bear with a recap of the surprise drop “Gary,” the one-hour movie/bonus episode that arrived ahead of the show’s final season. And finally, we’re looking ahead to our next watch: Widow’s Bay, a show with Stephen King vibes, X-Files energy, and strong Jersey roots (also Stephen Root). We’ll start covering it with a recap of the first 3 episodes and a review of Episode 4. If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. The Pitt "9:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 15

Okay team, we're back at PTMC for the Season 2 finale of The Pitt. It's "9:00 P.M." and things are finally winding down. Jodie and Andrea catch up on the end of Robby’s impossible day, check in on everyone else as they ring the damn bell, and take that trip to the roof we've been worried about all season. We'll be back next week for a look back on the season and a catch up of what else we've been watching lately. The Pitt "8:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 14

DISCLAIMER: We recorded this episode before the finale. We're leaving in some obviously wrong predictions because we're very brave and not afraid to be wrong on the Internet. Thanks for your patience. And NO THANKS to these patients, amirite?? It's "8:00 P.M." and The Watchers are back at PTMC for Season 2, Episode 14 of The Pitt, making our penultimate rounds. Andrea and Jodie check in on our patients, watch Robby continue his complicated little spiral, and spend a completely reasonable amount of time assigning everyone their Ren Faire roles. We’ll finally be back with Episode 15 next week, so consider this your official excuse to rewatch the season before we clock out and make our way up to the roof. The Pitt "7:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 13

The Watchers are back at PTMC for Season 2, Episode 13 of The Pitt. It’s “7:00 P.M.” and after a full 12 hours of watching the day shift slowly disintegrate, Jodie and Andrea are more than ready to sink into the night crew's warm, competent, extremely chill embrace. We meet the very welcome Dr. Crus Henderson (Crus Control, bay-bee!), spend not enough time with our dearest Dr. Shen (who really just needs some cake), and say goodnight (goodbye?) to Emma and Ogilvie. Meanwhile, our day shift team continues to stress us the hell out. But honestly, right now, while we're here in these show notes together, let's just ignore them for a few minutes and remind ourselves that we've still got two more hours with Abbott and the After Dark team. There now, doesn't that feel nice? If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. It would be SO helpful if you gave our little show a follow. The Pitt "6:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 12

Finally, time for handoff! What could possibly go wrong? It's Season 2, Episode 12 of The Pitt, and Andrea and Jodie are making their “6:00 PM” rounds. This hour is a little light on patient stories and a lot heavy on interpersonal mess, as Dana and Robby finally say some of the things we’ve wanted them to say all season, Santos and Whitaker remain in their own little platonic rom-com, and Joy does some teaching of her own. McKay lays the smackdown on a golf asshole, we get a little lesson on the difficulties of rural medicine, and an elderly couple gives Mel and Mohan the chance to just be good doctors together. Plus: we meet Mateo After Dark, Javadi attempts to put her TikTok fame to good use, and we get a visit from a very patriotic lobster. Here’s the Nurse Dana’s Admin Blood Donuts sticker we mentioned in this episode! If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. The Pitt "5:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 11

Time for The Pitt, Season 2, Episode 11: "5:00 P.M." Sorry for the delay on this one. How about we blame these cyber assholes? (Yes, I’m writing these notes while watching Episode 12.) We only need about a million more listeners before Andrea and Jodie can retire, at which point we can spend our dotage talking into microphones about TV shows, and Andrea will never be late again. The Pitt "4:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 10

It's time to make our rounds on Season 2, Episode 10 of The Pitt. It's "4:00 P.M." and, honestly, Andrea is way behind on her charting and doesn't want to end up like Santos, so we’re keeping these notes short. Inside: Mel and Robby’s VIPs, waterslide patients, including Andrea's least favorite injury of the series so far, Al-Hashimi might actually be cool as hell?, and we make our predictions as we head into the back third of the season. The Pitt "3:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 9

The Watchers are back at PTMC to recap Season 2, Episode 9 of The Pitt. It’s “3:00 P.M.” and we’re given one of the most PSA-ass PSAs of the series so far (it’s also one of the most gratifying, so we’re fine with it), meet Dana’s Dana, and mark the first two stops on Robby’s Farewell Tour. We check in on our patients, track what’s unfolding across the department, and break down some extremely important Jersey connections. The Pitt "2:00 P.M." Season 2, Episode 8

The Watchers are back at PTMC for Season 2, Episode 8 of The Pitt, just in time for our “2:00 PM” rounds. And finally, it’s chaos o’clock, baby. Jodie and Andrea celebrate the return of clipboards, patient charts, and the sweet siren song of a fax machine (Abbott is thriving like the office supplies girlie he is). We check in on our current patients, meet some new faces, and watch as the department starts to feel like it’s bracing for something bigger. Ellis and Mel definitely don’t have a conversation, Ogilvie (who is on THIN FRIGGIN ICE) and Javadi team up for some competitive genius nonsense untijavadl cool, calm, and collected Joy steps in, and we see which of our doctors-in-training have the capacity to learn from their mistakes.
