Courage Starts Before Confidence: Take the First Step While You Still Feel Nervous
transcript
show notes
Do you keep waiting to feel confident before taking the first step?
In this episode of The Tinted Visionary, I explore why courage often comes first and confidence follows afterwards. Drawing on my own experiences of walking around Warwick Castle as Pirate Steve, speaking live on BBC Radio Leicester, raising money for charity and facing everyday shyness, I share what helped me move forward even when I did not feel completely ready.
We look at how to make the brave thing smaller, build a courage ladder, stop treating nervousness as proof that you are unable, and create a “proof file” of everything you have already managed while afraid.
You do not need to become fearless or the loudest person in the room. Sometimes courage is simply taking one honest, safe and manageable step while your confidence catches up.
Courage moves first. Confidence follows the footprints.
