Some problems stay overwhelming because they are too vague.
"I need to get my life together."
"I'm always behind."
"Something is wrong."
"I need to do better."
These statements may be honest, but they don't give you anything specific to work on.
Make The Problem Specific Enough To Solve explores how turning a vague problem into a precise one can make the next step much clearer.
Instead of saying, "I'm terrible with money," ask:
"Where is my money actually going?"
Instead of, "I can't focus," ask:
"What keeps interrupting me when I try to work?"
Instead of, "My schedule doesn't work," ask:
"Which part of my schedule consistently breaks down?"
Specificity turns frustration into information.
Once you can describe the problem clearly, you can start identifying causes, testing solutions, and measuring whether anything actually improves.
You don't have to solve your entire life at once.
Find the part that is actually causing the trouble.
Name it.
Measure it.
Understand it.
Then work on that.
A vague problem can make you feel helpless because there is no obvious place to begin.
A specific problem gives you something you can change.
And sometimes the biggest improvement isn't finding a better solution.
It's finally asking a better question.
Don't fight a cloud of frustration.
Give the problem edges.
Make it specific enough to solve.
