Not every decision needs to be permanent.
Sometimes we make choices feel heavier than they actually are because we imagine that once we choose, we can never change course.
But many decisions are experiments, not verdicts.
Make The Decision Reversible On Purpose explores the value of creating choices that give you room to learn, adjust, and change your mind.
Before committing, ask:
Can I test this first?
Can I try it for a month?
Can I change the plan if new information appears?
What would it take to reverse the decision?
A reversible decision can reduce unnecessary pressure.
Instead of asking, "Is this absolutely the right choice?" you can ask, "Is this worth trying?"
That small shift can make difficult decisions much easier.
This doesn't mean avoiding commitment.
Some decisions really are difficult to reverse, and those deserve careful thought.
But when a choice is reversible, treating it like a permanent life sentence can create anxiety that doesn't need to exist.
Try the new routine.
Take the class.
Test the project.
Have the conversation.
Explore the opportunity.
Then pay attention to what you learn.
Good decision-making isn't always about predicting the future perfectly.
Sometimes it's about designing your choices so that you can learn from the future.
Give yourself room to adjust.
Make the decision reversible on purpose.
