Dr. Jessica Nelson, OTD, OTR/L, is a mental health occupational therapist currently practicing in an acute psychiatric setting. In her role, she provides direct clinical care while also leading program development initiatives to expand and enhance mental health–focused occupational therapy services. She brings prior experience from working in a state psychiatric hospital treating patients with both civil and forensic backgrounds as well as completion of a mental health fellowship program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

During her time as a fellow, Dr. Nelson developed comprehensive clinical experience treating across a broad range of specialized psychiatric populations and service areas, including pediatrics, geriatrics, chronic pain, young adults, affective disorders, substance and alcohol use disorders, schizophrenia, general psychiatry, acute psychiatry, and eating disorders.
