In the past, Ginny calmly stands her ground against Veronica’s cruel comments at the general store, backed by Wes’s unshakeable presence. On the truck ride home, a tender moment of encouragement from Wes leads to a near-kiss between them that is suddenly interrupted when Jed drops a metal bucket on the porch. That same electric spark echoes into the past during a violent summer downpour, where Ginny and Wes rush up to the hayloft to save the dry hay bales. Trapped in the dim loft by the storm, they share their deepest dreams for the future, with Wes making a steady vow to always help her hold up the roof. In the present day, after standing by Wes at Jed’s packed funeral service in the south pasture, Ginny retreats to her granddad's study. She opens another letter from Jed urging her to stop running from her pain and come back to where she belongs. Overwhelmed by bittersweet tears, Ginny is swept up into Wes’s arms as he holds her tightly, promising her that she is finally home.
