Cooling Meditation: Calming Body and Mind
transcript
show notes
In this guided Christian meditation, Brother Richard explores how breath, awareness and gentle visualisation can help the body settle into a greater sense of balance and calm.
While the purpose of meditation is never to control the body, one of its natural fruits is a growing awareness of the body's rhythms. In this practice, you'll use cooling imagery, the sensation of the breath and the imagination to invite relaxation, ease physical tension and cultivate a deeper awareness of your body's natural capacity for peace.
Whether you imagine a cool breeze, gentle water or a quiet autumn day, this meditation encourages you to work with the body rather than against it, discovering once again the harmony between breath, awareness and God's sustaining presence.
Perfect for daily Christian meditation, contemplative prayer, relaxation, managing stress, preparing for restful sleep, or finding calm on warm days or in moments of physical tension.
