August 9 | How to Have Beautiful Feet

Today’s reading from Psalm 77–78 and Romans 10 invites us to consider how the truth of God moves from one generation and one person to another. Both passages remind us that faith is formed over time as we remember what God has done, speak about His faithfulness, and remain attentive to the truth we have received. In Psalm 77–78, God’s people are repeatedly called to remember His works and refuse the forgetfulness that caused earlier generations to wander. The psalmist looks back at God’s faithfulness, rehearses His mighty acts, and emphasizes the responsibility of telling the next generation so that obedience and identity continue to be shaped by remembering who God is. In Romans 10, Paul turns our attention toward the way people hear and respond to the gospel. Faith involves calling on the Lord, but Paul reminds us that calling begins with hearing, hearing requires someone to speak, and speaking grows from the calling to carry the good news of Jesus into the lives of others. Together, these passages invite us to reflect on what we have received and what we are carrying forward. They remind us that God’s truth is meant to be remembered, treasured, and shared, and they invite us to notice how our own lives are being formed into places where His good news can continue moving toward others.
