show notes
The Autistic Mile is about more than raising awareness—it’s about creating opportunity.
This short offers a broader look at the mission behind the podcast: helping people better understand autism, sharing practical advice and lived perspectives, and giving those on the spectrum a platform where their voices and experiences can be heard.
But the mission also extends beyond conversation.
One of the goals of The Autistic Mile is to provide meaningful employment opportunities for autistic individuals—work that allows them to contribute through the things they’re naturally passionate about and the strengths that make them unique. Creativity, technical skill, storytelling, research, production, communication, and countless other talents all deserve room to grow.
Rather than asking autistic people to constantly reshape themselves to fit into environments that may not suit them, the podcast aims to help build opportunities around what they can already bring to the table.
Awareness matters. Advice matters. But so does giving people a genuine chance to participate, contribute, and build a sense of purpose through work they can feel proud of.
That is what The Autistic Mile ultimately hopes to stand for: understanding autism, supporting autistic individuals, and helping turn their potential into something tangible.
